NillWe stayed at the Riviera over the weekend. The new manager Kari was so kind and respectful. She treated my family like her own!We received warm towels and blankets right out of the dryer! The rooms could use some updates but this resort is walking distance to Indiana Beach with a beautiful view of the lake. Overall we couldn't of asked for better hospitality. I give all this review to the hardwork and complete dedication to there new manager Kari. I can't wait to visit again and see all the changes she makes to give this place a better name for itself. This place has much potential to be a even greater place in the future.

NillMy family and I have been going to The Rivera for years, and it's very disappointing how it's getting maintained. Ever since the new owners took over, it's been getting worse and worse, and it's extremely sad. Yes they made some improvements with new flooring but it's still a very sad place to stay at. The reasons why? We had weeds growing everywhere in front of our room, no coffee pot, never received fresh towels, no ice, the office is closed early, the beds are horrible, the toilet was broke, and the staff is rude. We stayed there for 3 nights recently, and there was nobody there. I remember in the past, the place was filled with people, and kids playing, now it's a ghost town. It honestly feels like the new owners wants the place to close down so they don't have to deal with it anymore. Until they can make tremendous improvements to their rooms and landscape, have staff there that are friendly and make you feel welcomed, we're not going back there again, which is very disheartening to say considering I been going to this resort since I was a little kid.

★★★★New management. Clean rooms with new drapes in the lower apartment rooms. New linens. The pool was crystal clear with new lighting around it. The pool was a little cool tho. The owner and managers are trying to return the Riviera to the busy resort it once was. The Riviera is perfect for families. We have gone to the Riviera for at least 15 years and have been thru the good and the not so good years. This year is definitely the beginning of the good again.

NillWe made last minute reservations for Labor Day weekend, and we regret it so bad. The pool is dirty & slimy, I didn’t even want to get in it. They had to change our rooms due to the horrible ac unit we had, it wasn’t even working properly on a 90 degree day! They switched us rooms and it wasn’t even clean, food was just every where. When they came to clean they used Clorox bleach & end up getting bleach on my clothes!! We set our AC to 54 degrees & it stayed about 80 degrees the whole night. The shower didn’t work either! Fridge didn’t work, we didn’t even have a microwave but they said we would have one. No towels, nothing any other hotel or resort would usually have prepared. There was a little girl who was in the pool spraying anyone that came near with freezing water from the water hose even after repeatedly being told not to. I will never ever spend a dime here again, it felt gross and not professional at all.

★Do Not Stay Here. Our family has very nice memories of the Riviera (under previous ownership) all the way back to the 1980s! Family and friends would stay for a week every July. Place was sold a year or 2 back... we revisited this summer (July). It was awful. Dirty. Very dirty. Filthy. Killed a roach in bathroom. Trash in sofa, under beds. Tried to wipe everything down with Lysol wipes we brought ourselves. Brought our own sheets but beds were still bad. And this place that had always been sold out in July in earlier times now had just 4 rooms rented - by us and the other family friends that had a tradition to come there same week each year. All agreed this was last year for the Riviera. The worst thing was the poor service and poor housekeeping... Never saw housekeeping staff do anything except smoke and talk and sit around. All the empty rooms were filthy with dirty dishes, dirty towels and bedding etc from the last guests in that room (?), & never cleaned the entire time we were there... I guess they don't clean up until someone books the room? and then marginally? No one ever came by in 4 days to collect our used towels and offer us clean ones. If you asked at the office, you were told laundry was "behind". This "resort" in the condition it was in in July is not worth $10 a night. Hopefully the new owner will wise up and realize what needs to happen to bring this place up to a decent condition again. (hmm... why is mine the 1st review on this place when there were previously lots (of bad ones)???) Oh, and our friends went to the office to ask for new batteries for the non working smoke alarm in their room, and were told "why do you have to complain? aren't you here on vacation to have fun?" So sad to see this place in such bad condition... It has an awesome location (across street from park and right on the lake!) and super views of lake. It could be nice if owner can put some $ into it and hire better staff.

NillMy family and I go every year for Fathers Day Weekend. We had reservation, which were reconfirmed in April. When we arrived there were new owners with no record of our reservation or deposit.! We lost out on our money! we are all extremely upset! Anyway, We tired to stay at this place still but when we went to go look at the room it was dirty and had no toilet water. Also the pool water is green and dirty! We ran out of there as fast as possible! The manager there is extremely rude and do not waste even a penny on this place! We went alittle up the road and stayed at Bay Pointe Resort and it's much better! The new Riviera doesn't even deserve one star that's how horrible it is.

NillWe have stayed at this hotel lots in the past to recently my family booked a room and put a $50 deposit down. After we booked we heard that they had issues with mold, bugs, and the pool. I was not going to stay in a room with my infant if they had mold. We called to cancel and they still charged us our $50 deposit. They tried to make us pay for a full night stay. The old owners were very nice and never would have done this. Never coming back.

NillMy family and I visited The Riviera this weekend and we couldn't of asked for better hospitality by the management to this hotel. Our room was tidy and our children loved the walking distance to Indiana Beach. We'll be going back soon. Such a nice get away from home.
