Newport Resort

We had been booked with Newport Resort and ultimately ended up needing to cancel our visit. I was so impressed with the hotel management to call and let us know in advance about their indoor pool upgrade maintenance that would be occuring during our stay. They were so kind and courteous, and allowed us to cancel last minute, although we didn't have the chance to stay this time, we will definitely be back again, after such a positive customer service interaction!

Our room wasn’t totally outdated as these reviews say. From my understanding some of these rooms are also people’s condos that they rent out, so my best guess is that every room is potentially different depending on if someone has updated their unit or not. We enjoyed our stay here. The room was perfect size for just the two of us. We didn’t use the kitchen area very much but it was a great option to have if we wanted to. I personally enjoyed the contactless room service. I don’t like people in my room cleaning when I’m here. I saw a review that talked about an outdated shower head, but our shower was amazing. The staff was great! The sauna wasn’t working when we came but that’s okay! The only downside is that we were coming down with a seasonal cold and there was no snow to do snow activities so not much to do during our trip. But overall I loved our stay!

Our family had a wonderful time staying here. The staff were friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and it made a nice home base for doing things around Door County. We were traveling with two young children (1 and 3 years old) and they especially loved the play area and pool, and they also really appreciated the Christmas decorations that were up for the Winter season! We would definitely come back in the future and recommend it to friends and family!

We have been staying at the Newport for over 10 years. We have 2-3 family stays each year and now both my mom and I have recommended the Newport during girls weekends and they want to keep coming back. The location is perfect. the room layout is great for friends or families. The staff are so kind and good at what they do. |Thank you, Newport!

We enjoy off season Door County because we love to hike. We tried Newport Inn for the first time and I highly doubt it will be our last! We try different places when we come because we have had some lovely surprises! Newport Inn was impressive. We stayed in the main building on the 2nd floor it was a corner room and a 2 room suite. When I tell you they have thought of everything, I mean it. We bought a loaf of bread from the local baker and they had a perfect knife to cut the bread with. The details have been curated and crafted for years to give you all the comforts of home. They even have black washcloths in the bathroom for women to wash their face and not ruin the beautiful white towels. This place is immaculate and well thought out in every way. The employees were all lovely! Eric checked us in and was awesome. I would 10/10 recommend!

We stayed at the Newport Inn in early January as part of a larger group. We reserved a block of rooms but there was confusion about the block and our reservations didn’t line up. Upon arrival the manager saw the issue and corrected the mistake. They put us together and fixed all reservations. Everyone was very helpful at the resort and we ended up having a lovely weekend in Door County. If you enjoy DC, you owe yourself a winter trip there. And if you do, Newport is an awesome place to stay for your adventure.

Great location to use as a base for enjoying all that Door County has to offer. Wonderful Front Desk Staff, clean Suite with updated shower, comfortable bed and living area furniture and efficient Housekeeping routine. The kitchenette provided everything we needed for simple meal preparation when we weren't eating out. Enjoyed the spacious indoor pool and hot tub as we visited in late October. The Fitness Center was equipped with enough equipment for a good workout.

The staff is great. Very warm and welcoming. That being said, our beds were very uncomfortable and the resort is looking a bit run down. The kids with the other family we traveled with had bad reactions to the pool chemicals for the 2nd year in a row. Not sure we'll return.
