NillThe cabins are cozy. Older and I think they're slowly starting to modernize them. We stayed in a 2 bedroom and the fridge/freezer is pretty small so be mindful of what you bring up to store in them. Not sure what they look like in the bigger cabins. The boat docks are a little run down and could use updating. There is a playground for the kids to play on. The reason for the low rating, which I feel is a pretty big deal, is the communication. The owner is deaf and lives off-site so the only way to get a hold of them is through text. I will say she was very responsive for most of our stay, but when it came towards the end of our week and I asked for copy of the bill and information on renting for the same week next year/what other cabins besides this 2 bedroom she may have available since we may be interested in something bigger, she said she would let me know/get back to us but we never heard from her again. Multiple texts sent and nothing back. This left us scrambling to try and find another place on the flowage that had availability for that same week which is tough considering most families re-rent at the same place year after year and openings are hard to come by. I can't explain the no response but it left a very bad taste in our mouth for this resort.

NillI am a travel nurse and I was able to stay at Musky Joes for 3 months. It was my home away from home. Cassy and Mark went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable and I had everything I needed. They were more than accommodating of my crazy night shift schedule to ensure I was able to sleep during the day to the point of rearranging their schedule to work and prepare for the summer season. I have watched the resort come alive as summer comes and they have done so much work to make it beautiful for their guests! The grounds are beautiful and the sounds of nature are very peaceful. You can relax and enjoy it all.

NillWe rented the entire resort for a wedding party gathering. We had all 6 cabins for a week. I couldn't imagine a better place for a large gathering/family reunion. The resort was clean and functional. We had PLENTY of space for all of our activities. The relaxed atmosphere was perfect for what we were looking for. The owners even had a private rock concert for us on our last night to send us off. I wish I got married more often, just to have an excuse to do it again. Thanks for everything!!!

NillIf you're looking for everything brand new and a 5 star hotel, this is not the resort for you. It is an older resort and the cabins are rustic and have the old-time charm. The owners are currently updating all of the appliances and updating the cabins as well. We stayed for three nights and were allowed to bring my Dalmatian, which is a plus. The grounds are clean and organized. The cabins are comfortable and were clean. Linens and beds were clean. The furniture in ours didn't match, typical of older cabins. Kitchen utensils were 50/50, some things missing that we needed. Not a deal breaker. Didn't see any nasty bugs or cob webs in our cabin. Relatively kept clean and organized upon arrival. The shore is shallow though and the resort's bay itself is shallow so those with expensive fiberglass boats may want to use the public ramp to get their boats in as the ramp on the campground is a little sketchy. Because the water is shallow, your boat is most likely gonna dig into the muck along the shore and trim engine up. There was a floating Bog stuck in the center of the bay too. Some kids were trying to fish along the shore but there are weeds/lillipads and were getting caught up in them but did manage to get a few tiny bluegill. The bay is very shallow and not really a fishing spot. You gotta get out of the resort's bay to get to the fishable waters (Musky Bay). Had a muskie hit my lure just outside of the bay so the big fish are there and don't have to go very far. We caught a few pike on our trip too. The bay is secluded so you don't get the traffic from the main lake. Very little winds too when a storm blew through. We had a positive experience while visiting and the cabins are rustic old charm. All of our appliances were in working good condition as some have been updated too. bathroom is small but clean. Showers are typical plastic standing booth with good pressure and VERY hot water. Wifi was poor. The location is nice and secluded too. There were fire pits and free wood by our cabin, which we didn't use. Probably not the best place for children. There are other resorts that are better equipped. I would say this is more of a resort for those who want piece and quiet and just want to fish, the older folks. The owners were very attentive to our needs and questions. They were very friendly and answered any questions we may of had. Would we go back there again, yes.

NillI stayed here and had a poor experience. The place is the cheapest on the flowage for a reason. It is run down and they say they are upgrading things but the upgrades are done by nit whits who don’t know how to use a tape measure or know how to operate a saw. You are better off paying more so you don’t have to stay in a cabin that smells like mold with the window ac not working. There is also a creeper walking around there that made my lady friend uncomfortable. He walks around smoking and staring and has a ponytail. Truly a bad experience. I will never recommend this place nor will I ever stay here again.

NillThis is an awesome resort. It's a nice place to unplug and relax by the Chippewa Flowage. The location is great and you can get some good fishing in right off the dock at night. The owner was very nice, too. Cabins come well stocked with essentials for cooking and there were charcoal grills outside for your convenience. I'll be coming back and recommending this place to anyone who wants to stay in the area.

NillStayed for a week and had a fantastic time. Grounds were well kept, plenty of free firewood. Beach was nice. We boated and kayaked a ton. We were able to trickle charge our electric car which was super nice. Owners were on site and really nice. Would (and will) stay again.
