We had a wonderful dinner with friends. The lodge/bar is very north woods cute. Service was great and they have live music on Friday and Saturday evenings.

We had an incredible stay at Ghost Lake Lodge! The drive up from Milwaukee was scenic and set the tone for a perfect getaway. Unit 12 was absolutely ideal—spacious, well-equipped, and with excellent WiFi. The whole family felt comfortable, and we particularly enjoyed the large great room and jacuzzi tub! Renting a pontoon boat allowed us to explore the stunning lake, and we even had the chance to do some fishing and bring the dog along. The lodge itself was fantastic, with a great bar, fun games, and a pool table! As an architect, I admired the aesthetic beauty and history of the well-designed structures. We also enjoyed making a big bonfire, grilling out, and star gazing. The owners were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this amazing getaway to anyone looking for a memorable retreat!

I hesitate to make this review because GLL has been one of my favorite places. My wife and I had dinner here long ago when it had an Italian restaurant, and stayed here for a week in 2019 for our 25th anniversary. I gave GLL a 5* review. Last week I was staying on one of the other Quiet Lakes, and decided to check out GLL for a visit next year. I drove in around 7:15 on a Sunday morning, creeping along at a few miles an hour in a small SUV. As I was leaving someone from the lodge (not the owner) berated me for being so disrespectful as to drive near the cabins. I was making almost no noise (no radio on, etc). I apologized, but he just went on and on. His behavior was borderline unhinged. As much as I loved this place, I will not return.

I don’t quite know how to fully express our love of Ghostlake Lodge. It is quiet yet full of energy, playful and outdoorsy, intimate and social, and all with a Frank Lloyd Wright vibe. We have made this our summer stomping ground with dear old friends. I don’t think we have found another place as special as Ghost Lake Lodge. We have dance parties, quiet kayak trips, and feasts as a group every night. It is the perfect place to call home away from home…

Each year I find a different place for my family and I to stay in the Northwoods. Ghost Lake was a hidden gem!! We had beautiful weather the first 2 days. Had a fire, fished, watching lightning across the lake at night and saw the dark sky killed with stars!! Our cabin was clean and so cozy with little white lights on our porch to listen to the rain fall. This is a place that is meant to be spent with family or meeting others, not for devices! We loved it and shared many laughs. Owners were wonderful, along with the bartenders in training. Thank you for giving us the Northwoods welcome & experience, what a beautiful place.

We just spent 4 nights at Ghost Lake Lodge and had an awesome time. The whole place is so peaceful and quiet. The lake is one of three "quiet lakes" in the Hayward area, meaning no speedboats, jet skis or water traffic over 10 mph. The result was awesome. The water was so calm and most days we'd only see 2 or 3 other boats. The people who manage and run the resort were so pleasant and whatever we asked for help with (more gas for the boats, more lighter fluid for the grill, more firewood, etc) was quickly tended to. The lodge has a great, rustic, authentic lodgey feel to it. Classic place pizza and beer. We loved our cabin and plan to rent it again. I think we'll be annual visitors as a great place to go and get off the grid for a few.

Very hospitable and attentive lodge keepers and owners. Caroline was very attentive to any questions we had and her husband Tracy keeps everything well maintained and also makes a classic WI Brandy old fashion! We rented the new pontoon boat which was VERY easy to use even for novice boaters and worked perfectly for our fishing and family relaxation needs. Glorious lake for fishing, but we did hire highly recommend local fishing guide John Maier at True North Guides. Four first time Muskie catches for our family of 8. Privacy and quiet with lodge steps away, which was also very quiet. Dogs welcome for those who have canine family:)

My wife and I along with our high school age son just returned from a fantastic week at Ghost Lake Lodge. GLL offers a traditional northwoods experience on a gorgeous no-wake lake nestled in the national forest, perfect for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. If you need constant cell service, this middle of the forest may not work for you.But if you want to unwind and unplug, relaxing on the water or in the screened in porch, GLL will not disappoint. Our cabin was 30' away from the water, offering great views of the lake and comfortable furniture. Humming birds were constantly at the feeder, and the sound of the loons and croaking frogs were a welcomed change from traffic and sirens of the city. We were concerned that our son might get bored, but he made good use of the tennis court, pool, and kayaks. He especially enjoyed going to the lodge and making use of the wifi, shooting pool, and spinning some vintage records. Hayward is an easy half hour drive, and there are plenty of dining opportunities. GLL's new owners have an obvious passion to make this a quiet place for families to bond and make great memories. The staff was amazing. We are so glad we took a chance on GLL, and plan on returning.
