Mangla Paying Guest House

Our family stayed in Goa when my eldest was a baby and we met so many amazing friends during our stay that we decided to come back for a visit. Many friends had dispersed and this time we found ourselves in Varanasi. Rahul was so kind to our girls and Amy was incredibly welcoming. We had a great time staying with them and the location couldn't have been better--it was so close to all the action! Shops and restaurants were plentiful and in close proximity with the Ganga only a 2 minute walk away. Our room was hippie chic with artistic appeal and was clean and comfortable from the moment we arrived. The WiFi was reliable, the water was hot and the AC was a blessing! Amy and Rahul were so incredibly informative and helpful- it was a pleasure to stay with them.

My family of three including our 11 year old daughter stayed at this fabulous guest house for an entire week. We were welcomed by Amy and Rahul with big smiles and a clean facility. Prior we had a excellent communication with Amy (she is an expat from the US living here for 8 years); she arranged our transportation from the airport and Rahul met us at the meeting spot to help us navigate through the walk streets to get to their place. ||Their place is simple and meets the needs of Western and Eastern travelers alike. The rooms are nicely decorated, most have A/C and some have ensuite bathrooms. The communal area is the lobby space which is decorated colorfully and open. ||We came for both business and pleasure and the wifi worked spot on making our Zoom calls stream without a problem. ||Upstairs there is a NGO that runs a school during the week, Mon-Saturday so there is a healthy buzz of happy children. We enjoyed seeing the children coming and going and appreciated visiting the students and talking with the teacher- this gave me an insider authentic view towards the educational practices first hand and not designed for tourists.||Both Amy and Rahul provide tremendous insights and offer excellent tours to help you navigate the city and learn more about the customs and culture which may set them above other guest house options.||Don't hesitate booking your stay here- we truly enjoyed our time.

This guesthouse is now manage by new owners and we had the chance to be their first guests! Our room was spacious, well decorated with fresh painting, clean and the matress was soft. We really appreciated the fact that we had a small heater in the room to keep us warm. Hands soap, toilet paper and towels were also provided. They were still working on the wifi connection and hot water running. The location of this guesthouse is perfect; just a few minutes walk from the Ganges. Both of the owners (1 indien guy married to an american woman) are really friendly, always happy to answer our questions and to show us around. We recommand it!

We loved our stay at the Mangla House with Amy and Rahul. They are very caring and knowledgeable hosts. We appreciated their guest house and the sense of security and community. The top floor is occupied by a NGO that supports kids. Loved seeing the children come for schooling and after school activities throughout the day as well. Would highly recommend and definitely take the hosts up on their local tours and cooking classes. All was great fun. We stayed a week and this included myself, my husband and 11 year old daughter.

We had a wonderful 5 day stay at Mangla when our other guest house fell through and we were led to this one, how lucky are we! Amy and Rahul are fantastic hosts, really chilled and super helpful. The location is perfect, so close to the ghats and great restaurants and cafes. It was clean with simple pretty decor and an easy place to relax in. We will definitely be back on our next trip!

Mangla guest house is in the perfect location; set back just a short way from the ghats and just around the corner from the best lassi shop in Varanasi. ||The hosts, Amy and Rahul, are so helpful and friendly. They were able to tell us all the best things to do and were great to sit down with in the evening to socialise. ||The rooms all have a fresh touch and are comfortable and bright. ||||Would highly recommend!

We stayed at this hostel for 3 nights with my partner, we enjoyed our stay, it's very well located, you can easily get to the touristique places in Varanasi ans the ceremony of Aarti. I recommend to all the future travelers.

This is a cosy place with very good management team. I enjoyed my 2 two days stay with my GF.||||Highly recommend it. Has also a very nice rooftop which I hope in future will also be having Yoga classes. Looking forward to it.
