The Mud House

The Mud House, like perhaps no other homestay, does justice to the home part of the homestay. Our stay was comfortable and cozy, and we lacked for nought. The warmth of the place is unmatched except for the warmth and homeliness of our hosts, the food tasted much like home and is definitely fabulous. I would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the Kaza. The experience is simply unparalleled and has been unforgettable. Also a huge thank you to our hosts at the Mud House who transformed our time into the cherished memories we have.

The mud house provided the best homestay experience of my life so far. It was run by a very kind family. The hosts welcomed me like family members. You will enjoy delicious local food, mostly handmade and organic. Anyone planning to explore Spiti must stay at this place and make it a part of their lifelong journey.

Very good hospitality, cleanliness, comfort, local experiences, and food quality. This place will make you feel like home in a matter of minutes. The hospitality is super amazing and warm. The hosts are the most sweetest and genuine people. Honestly I'd stay at this place over any fancy restaurant Always! The food is homely, and it's near to the market and other popular sites in Kaza. Worth visiting again and again!

Words cannot describe the kind hospitality that Mr. Cherring and his family provided to us in Kaza. This was the best stay during our trip to Spiti and it was all because of the family. The rooms were pretty and cozy, something that we welcomed after spending the days in sub zero temperatures. The food was always fresh and hot and home like. They had a greenhouse and a fully functional and clean restroom which is tough to maintain in that climate. Oh and they have a lovely dog, and playing with him for a few minutes just brings out a warm fuzzy feeling in your heart. If you are looking for a homestay experience, look no further. We can’t wait to visit them again.
