Anantay - The Chalet

Amazing time at The Chalet. Vinay hosted us with superb hospitality. The surroundings are stunning and hikeable. Go to Ganjau, and if you can, go to Thinni Top. Take a week and explore the entire valley. Eat siddus of Indira aunty at barshangarh waterfall (which is a pleasant 30 min hike from the Chalet). Try Johnny’s pahadi chicken with rice. PS: A week may not be enough to explore the valley fully!

Absolutely loved our stay at Shangarh thanks to The Chalet and Vijay bhai's hospitality. The staff goes out of their way to make sure you're comfortable and also provide great suggestions for activities around the area. Will definitely get back here again sometime.

I had an unforgettable stay in the mountains! The hospitality was truly exceptional — warm, welcoming, and attentive to every detail. From the moment we arrived, we felt completely at home. Vinay is the best host...all you want you get it...sab kuch mile ga!! He will help and assist you with everything litterly...the property is well maintained rooms and bathrooms are clean and staff also very friendly...last bust not the least food is amazing here...thanks Vinay for all the help and hosting us... will definitely come back and recommend to fellow travelers!!!

A Serene Escape Above Shangarh Meadows This beautiful place is perched atop Shangarh Valley, just a 10-minute drive above the famous Shangarh meadows. The location offers peace and stunning views, far from the chaos of the market area—perfect for those looking to disconnect and relax. Vinay, Lucky, and the chef are truly amazing hosts who go out of their way to ensure a comfortable stay. They are warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making your experience memorable. The food is delicious and tailored to your preferences—homely yet delightful. Their pets, Cherry and Buddy, are playful and add a joyful charm to the stay. They’ll keep you smiling throughout your time there. One tip: since the property is a bit remote, make sure to carry all essentials in advance. Running back to the market for last-minute needs can be a bit inconvenient. That said, Vinay is always happy to help and goes above and beyond to assist with anything you may require. Overall, a wonderful and refreshing getaway with heartwarming hospitality.

I really loved my stay at the chalets. The rooms are good, and the view is super mesmerizing. Lucky, the caretaker, is very quick and efficient. The chef is amazing, and the food is delicious. I loved the service - it's so quick! The food quantity is generous, even when ordering half portions. A great touch was that we could ask Lucky to keep leftovers in the fridge for the next day. The cottage is located 1.5 km above Shangarh, and while the roads aren't great, the drivers are professional and will ensure a hassle-free ride. The taxi fare from Shangarh to Aut is ₹2000. Shangarh Meadows is 1.5 km from the hotel, about a 30-minute walk downhill, but it's better to take a cab back up to avoid the effort. One suggestion for improvement: air heaters or oil heaters would be a welcome addition during cold times.
