Maitreya Mud House Tabo

This is a great hotel to experience local culture. From an amazing kitchen set-up for local dining to a warm and cozy look from inside. Rooms are also spacious, clean and well maintained. They also have facility of bed heaters. Monastery & local market is just 50 steps away from this hotel, but still a peaceful place to spend some time. Thank you Mr Rinchen Bodh for a great experience and warm hospitality.

Good hotel, quiet location, cozy rooms, next to the temple complex. Helpful staff. Enthusiastic owner, nice living room with traditional ambiance. Nearby are shops and restaurants. You can book breakfast or dinner in advance. The food is delicious and the service fine.

Very cozy rooms and courteous staff. This is just next to the old tabo monastery. They have amazing view of tabo caves from the terrace. Food was nice too. One feedback would be to have darker curtains for windows.

We have visited this place in 1st week of June 2024 and had a pleasant stay. Cozy rooms with bed heater.. must needed for winter. They can improve veg food quality and electricity backup in case of power loss. But hotel is very aesthetic and well design. It's 100 meter distance only to Tabo monestary. Go with it !!!

Recently my friend and I ( 2 women travelers ) visited Spiti. We visited Tabo during our trip. We stayed at Maitreya Mud House and it was best choice that we made during entire trip. They have 3 properties and we stayed at Maitreya Mud House. they property is located just next to the Tabo Monastery. it is a beautiful property with very nice owner and friendly staffs. there was some issue with our room locked, we just called the staffs and they tried their best to help us out. since we visited during off season and no other guests were present owner gave us the biggest room and best view. in fact, we were not feeling that well during our trip. but stay in Maitreya Mud House made us heal. They provided us with a wide spread of food and we got to taste local food as well. 100% recommended to stay, if you are in TABO please don't look for another property than Maitreya Mud House.

Very near to Tabo monastery suppose to be oldest in india Extremely neat and clean rooms and bathroom even all part of property dinning with ethenic setup serve fresh good quality food owner Renchen and madam itself take care of property and guest overall this feels home away from your home👍

Clean and compact rooms, courteous staff. Decent food. Rooms towards the back have a good view. Avoid room which is over the dining. The chimney of the dining heater is routed thorough this room and carries the noise of plates and guests chatting in the dining.

I recently stayed at a homestay in Tabo, Himachal Pradesh, and it was an exceptional experience. The hospitality was outstanding, with the hosts going above and beyond to make me feel welcome and comfortable. The food was a highlight, featuring delicious local and traditional dishes made from fresh ingredients.
