Maitreya Mud House Tabo by Eco Hospitality

I had booked this place from their website called eco hospitality. Before booking we had called the number that was mentioned in the website to find out a few things since we were travelling during the time when there’s snow. Once we reached there the person in charge of the mud house couldn’t find our booking and the room given to us didn’t match with the pictures on the website. So a call was made to the owner of Eco Hospitality, Dr.Hari by the caretaker. He was utterly rude and was talking rubbish and he kept saying we don’t have a booking and that he will not host us. Basically he was telling us to get out. This was at 9pm at night. Clearly he wasn’t a himachali. Because nobody will say such a thing. We had to send him a mail to show him that we have booked 2 rooms and then he shut up. Later the caretaker told us that Maitreya mud house has recently been taken by Eco hospitality. I don’t understand how these kind of people are part of the hospitality industry. The information on their website is totally wrong. The booking is on per person basis. The picture on the website is of a family room. Absolute fraud! And if Dr.Hari is reading this review, please know that my entire family has been in the hospitality industry and that is no way to treat your guests. Makes me wonder how you treat your patients. If anyone wants to book this place, please call Maitreya Mud house directly so that you get proper info about the place. The location is great as it’s next to the monastery. But overall our experience was very disappointing.

Great hospitality. The staff is very kind and helpful. The eating area is warm and cozy. They provide great amenities and service. Also, the location is walking distance from the monastery.

The home stay is located right besides a monastery that’s more than a 1000 years old! The stay is very well maintained, have their own restaurant as well as buffet meals, attached bathrooms with water frequently provided during winters. They provide with heater, heating rod, and bed warmers. Everything is at a walking distance since it’s located right within the market.

This is a great hotel to experience local culture. From an amazing kitchen set-up for local dining to a warm and cozy look from inside. Rooms are also spacious, clean and well maintained. They also have facility of bed heaters. Monastery & local market is just 50 steps away from this hotel, but still a peaceful place to spend some time. Thank you Mr Rinchen Bodh for a great experience and warm hospitality.

Good hotel, quiet location, cozy rooms, next to the temple complex. Helpful staff. Enthusiastic owner, nice living room with traditional ambiance. Nearby are shops and restaurants. You can book breakfast or dinner in advance. The food is delicious and the service fine.

Very good and clean homestay. Washroom Is common it is the only problem. Well behaved staff. Bed heater will be provided. Foods are very tasty.

Very near to Tabo monastery suppose to be oldest in india Extremely neat and clean rooms and bathroom even all part of property dinning with ethenic setup serve fresh good quality food owner Renchen and madam itself take care of property and guest overall this feels home away from your home👍

This is mine first himachal trip...and also first snow trek... This homestay is too lovely. I don't even think how these guys are managing this type of amazing stuff. On the top of mountain and High Altitude
