Crimson Eye - A Wandertrails Stay

We visited Coorg for a weekend getaway (May 13-14). We visited the Ranganthittu bird sanctuary on our way to Coorg and also stopped by the Namdroling monastery at Bylakuppe. After a sumptuous lunch at Coorg cuisine restaurant we proceeded to Crimson Eye. We planned to go visit Abbey falls and a few other places after we freshened up. When we reached the property we just completely fell in love with it and we just stayed indoors!||The house:|It's a heritage house, Boppana our host said its close to 100 years old. The surroundings are very green with lot of trees and a lawn. There's a provision for Bon fire.The house is very clean and very well maintained. ||Rooms|We loved the sitting area outside the house.|The living room is very colourful and well done. They have also provided speakers so we can play our music there. |It's got 3 double bedrooms and one single bedroom. It was provided with freshly laundered bedsheets and also a blanket and a quilt. The rooms have a mirror and a place to hang clothes and also one table fan.||There's a dining room with a huge dining table and lovely lights. ||The bathrooms are not attached but we did not mind it as we were not travelling with kids. The bathrooms were very neat and clean.||The kitchen had a fridge, microwave, kettle and there were plates, cups, bowls, bottle opener, tongs, etc.||The caretaker loves outside n is just a ring away. We just had tea ordered from her but she does provide meals. ||Over all we just loved this place and we will definitely return!!!

Crimson eye is not suitable for family stay - first and foremost no bed rooms (there are 3 double beds and 1 single bed) are bath attached. Curtains and bed sheets are in bad shape and the care taker is not at all friendly. During our visit it was hot, but no fans were available. The house itself is very very old. The caretaker makes food, which is horrible and he gives advice not to have food from outside.

The facilities were not good . First of all no fans at all in any of the bedrooms and it was hot though not bearable, but this was not informed to us beforehand. The food provided by the caretaker was not at all good and expensive too. Moreover there was no gas stove to atleast boil milk/water for kids . We had to go to the caretaker's house to boil some milk for the kids. The caretaker does not keep the house clean or wash the dishes during our stay unless we insist him to do .The tea provided was very bad and breakfast menu had very less items and so we had to have from outside.We had difficulty in locating the place too.||The location was good with a small garden in front for the kids to play.

A really amazing place to stay . Stayed with a couple of college friends while our visit to Coorg. Really convenient place to tour Coorg. Also has a kitchen with a brilliant cook and delicious food options.

Clean and well maintained place, location of the place is good as not far from the city. caretaker is a bit rustic but kind and helpful to my family. Recommended for groups, and corporate team outings. Friendly and informative owner.

" Crimson Eye Bungalow is a heritage house in Madikeri.If you are a group of family between 4 to 6 this is a perfect place to stay.Food served by the care taker is very simple.However, if you want something more there are nearby restaurants which are easily accessible.The stay gives lots of privacy .Bon fire was also provided on request on our visit.The Host Mr.Bopanna is very knowledgeable about the place .He also conducts nature walks around the hills of Madikeri.A perfect place to stay those who like nature.

Booked directly with them ...... they are just money minded ......if you ask for facility what they promised....they behave like stupid.....there is no facilities....I suffered a lot....lot of mosquitos in homestay....no lights in rest rooms....no hot water.....very old fans, it doesn't work....the price they charge like 3star hotel....no complimentary breakfast....just waste homestay.....not at all recommended.

Booked online. Contact number was switched off. Booking was cancelled by the property on the day of check-in. Somebody else booked the same property using same site. Think twice before booking!
