We had a great time at Leelu Homestay. Delicious breakfast, every day something new. Mr Roy helped us to prepare for a wedding we were invited to. He arranged a trip outside the city and patiently explained about different food, culture, and the history of place. Thank you, Uncle Roy.

What a wonderful stay. Roy is a superb host, extremely helpful with everything. Arrranging tuk tuks, taxis, airport collection, excusions. Don't know how we would have managed without him. Wonderful breakfasts with great stories from Roy being a Ships Captain. Thank you Roy for a magical stay in Kerela. Macky Rixom Feb 2024

We stayed an extra week in Fort Kochi following our South Indian Tour. We moved from our 5 Star hotel on Willingdon Island to Leelu's Homestay. Comparing the two would seem disadvantageous to Leelu's, but it isn't. We traded a standard hotel room with all the amenities for a much larger bedroom at Leelu's with all the necessities. Leelu's room looked like it was someone's guest room. It was dated to be sure, but then, so was the room at the 5 star. There was no private TV or frig, but we weren't there to watch TV, and there was plenty of space for our drinks. The real advantages of staying at Leelu' is the location, and the concierge services of Roy and Leelu. They made great recommendations and arranged for just about everything we wanted to do. The breakfasts were also a pleasant perk. Authentic Kerala food served with coffee the way we liked it. Leelu's is indeed homey. It is not luxurious. However, I would choose Leelu's over the 5 Star Hotel on Willingdon without hesitation.

I stayed here with my girlfriend for two nights and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Roy is very friendly and really helps you out with tours etc., which otherwise can be somewhat of a hassle. ||||Roy helped us book both a tour to Munnar and one to the Backwaters. Both where good experiences with reliable drivers and overall great value. He even allowed us to have a shower and hang out at his place a few hours before our departure, even though we at that point hadn't stayed at Leelus for 3 nights.||||Couldn't recommend enough!

Leelus homestay is located brilliantly in a quiet street 250 yards from the Chinese fishing nets in the centre of old town. The owner Roy Simon is an ex master mariner who sailed 80 times round the world as an officer in a container ship, and he knows the are very well. Peter his auto-rickshaw driver gives excellent tours round asking where you want to go next but also suggesting new places. 500 rupees for 4or 5 hours. Kathakali dance just round the corner is a must see (Rupees 350 each), Leelu does cooking classes for minimum 4 oeople, which I am sure would be great but we were only 2, so missed this. Big rooms with AC and large bathroom. The street is very quiet at night and quiet during the day.

My host was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the area and was able to help me with everything from restaurants to shoe repairs! Roy also arranged a half-day Backwaters tour at 800 rupees less than the nearest competitor. Excellent location on a quiet street but close to cafes and visitor attractions. Highly recommended.

We landed in Kochin and were met by the driver organised by our host Roy from Leelu Homestay. It was all uphill from there. Roy is an amazing host. Fort Kochin is his home, his community. He knows everything and generously assisted us to finalise our Kerala itinerary over breakfast the following morning. Tours taxis tuk tuk drivers all briefed by him to take care of us and ensure we are safe and happy. We called him our Guardian Angel. His wife is an amazing cook. Try to take up one of her cooking classes while you are there. Thanks Roy and Leelu Homestay.

We were warmly greeted by Roy and introduced to his wife Leelu, we were then shown to our room,a large ensuite with a sitting room just outside the door. Very private. We stayed for 2 nights and Roy and Leelu made us feel very 'at home'. Roy arranged a tuktuk to show us around a Fort Kochi and we were taken to places we wouldn't have found by ourselves- different religious districts and their temples as well as a ginger factory and a traditional laundry. We also visited a women's spice cooperative.||Roy was also able to direct us to a reputable Ayurvedic doctor where we had the most sublime full body treatment for 2hours (approximately £35 each).||Thank you Roy and Leelu
