The Magnolia Lodge

We had the privilege of staying at this remarkable property, rather I should say, home, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The stunning imperial architecture and thoughtfully designed structure left us in awe. The host, a retired neurologist from the US, along with his incredibly warm and courteous team, made our stay even more special. The views were simply breathtaking. A serene valley on one side and a balcony view offering mesmerizing sunsets behind the mountains, as if it’s a theatre by design. A special mention goes to the property manager, Vivek, humble and a thorough gentleman with so much to offer. Don’t forget to request him to sing and play the guitar for you, he’s incredible!

Excellent propety unique design of the resort structure gives a European feel. Situated at good location with good view of the valley and Almora residence . Frequently clouds used to cover the views. Close to the main Almora and has a good approch way to resort. Friendly host nice to talk to. The staff were cordially and helpfulness was seen in all actions.

We had excellent experience at Magnolia Lodge. The property is designed and furnished to very high standards and very well maintained. The property itself is very beautiful and the delicious home cooked food was an added bonus . Would highly recommend this place.

The home was beutiful, with a huge verandah / lawn overlooking Almora town. Views from the lawns are amazing. The home is very tastefully decorated. Its a quiet place away from the crowded part of town. There's not much to do in Almora town per se, and one can enjoy a few relaxing days here. They do have activities like archery, air gun shooting, table tennis, karaoke, etc. Rooms were clean & the house is very well maintained. Everyone including Vivek (manager), Digan & the other staff members are always ready to help with all your requirements, be it housekeeping or cooking as per your restrictions/preferences. You get hot & fresh home cooked food as per your request. The owner, Dr. Rawat is a wonderful host. He stays at the property whem in country. Very good person to sit down with & have a conversation / chat. He makes sure you are well taken care of. The rooms are on the first floor and they're planning to add an elevator for those who may have difficulty climbing stairs. Spa was under renovation when we visited. If driving yourself, the last few hundred metres is steep and will be a good test to driving skills!! The road is well paved & should not a challenge. Overall, a good place to chill out & relax for a few days. Would definitely recommend, especially when traveling with family & kids. They make you feel very welcome :-)

It felt like a home away from home. The staff was extremely courteous and ensured we were made comfortable in the best manner. The joy of eating fresh made food served hot at the dining table with your family was wonderful. Manager Vivek was a humble individual who checked on you often to make sure everything was fine with our stay. Room for the view was amazing and peaceful. The warmth of sitting at a fireplace in the cold of winter had a magical touch to the overall stay and experience. Highly recommend Magnolia Lodge to all who plan to visit Almora - it is an absolute 100% return on your investment! Thank you Team Magnolia and specially Vivek for taking such great care of us!!!

It was pleasant home stay, very thoughtfully designed property of rich taste, a memorable experience of warm hospitality, polite and courteous staff, impeccable cleanliness, delicious food with travel support. The approach to property looked tough but the scenic beauty from the place made it finally truly worth property to stay at, probably the best in the region so far. Thank you Vivek for all your assistance and guidance whatever we needed for reaching and staying. Special thanks to Dr Rawat for giving personal attention, guiding everyone of his staff to ensure that we are taken good care of at all times. Came back with pleasant memories only, first time traveller to the place.

We had a wonderful 5-night stay at Magnolia Lodge. The property is beautifully situated on a hill, offering stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the city of Almora. The rooms are spacious, clean, and equipped with all modern amenities, with special attention to every little detail. The lodge itself is incredibly comfortable, peaceful and tastefully decorated, featuring interesting artwork, cozy fireplace, various spots to enjoy the beauty of the mountains, stargaze, and birdwatch. It's the perfect place to relax and unwind. I can't praise the staff enough. They went above and beyond to make us feel at home, whether it was through preparing home-cooked meals, local dishes, offering recommendations and arranging sightseeing tours, or driving us around. Everything was impeccable. The owner, Dr. Rawat, is a delightful host with great ideas and exciting projects planned for the lodge. The lodge is conveniently located near several interesting sites, including Kasar, Guldaar Valley, and the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, where I had the pleasure of doing some short hikes with Mr. Vivek, the fantastic general manager. He kindly agreed to be my hiking guide, and his company made the experience even better. I truly hope to return to this gem of a place soon.

We had an amazing seven-day stay at Magnolia Lodge. From the moment we arrived, everything was taken care of—from transportation and accommodations to meals and sightseeing. We were picked up from our hotel in Delhi by Kamal in a sparkling, comfortable Toyota Innova Hycross. Not only is Kamal a fantastic driver, but his friendly and caring nature made the journey feel like a warm welcome. Vivek’s exceptional hospitality truly stood out. He went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our stay was perfect, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. His genuine care and attention to detail made us feel incredibly welcomed and well taken care of. Diger, along with his team, served up some of the best Kumaoni food. Each dish was a delight and a genuine taste of the local flavor. One of the evenings, Diger made us freshly baked pizzas in the outdoor pizza oven, and later, Vivek serenaded us with his soulful voice and guitar by the fireplace. It was an unforgettable night filled with warmth, music, and great company. One of the highlights was our conversation with Dr. Rawat, the owner. We talked about everything—from local delicacies and must-visit spots to quirky topics like pruning roses and beekeeping. These chats added a personal touch to the whole experience. The warmth, kindness, and care we received made Magnolia Lodge feel just like home. We left with memories that will last a lifetime, and we can’t wait to return.
