I had a wonderful stay at Shreya Homestay in Kurseong during Durgapuja. The hosts, Rupen Bhaiya and his wife, are an incredibly warm and helpful couple. They went out of their way to ensure that I felt comfortable and had everything I needed throughout my stay. The room condition was good, with a beautiful view of the surrounding tea gardens, which made the mornings absolutely serene. The location itself is peaceful and perfect for anyone looking to disconnect or work remotely—especially since the internet connection was strong and reliable. If you're planning to do some work from the mountains, this place is definitely a good choice. While the room was comfortable, I think there could be a little more attention to cleanliness, especially with the blankets. Other than that, everything was quite satisfactory. The homemade food was delicious and added to the homely experience. Overall, I highly recommend Shreya Homestay for anyone visiting Kurseong. Rupen Bhaiya and his wife make the place feel like a home away from home!

Most recommended homestay at Kurseong especially for young as this homestay little far from main road. But pickup facility is available. This house surrounded by tea garden full of green valley. If you are lucky, you can see Kanchenjunga also from balcony and terrace. Overall experience was good, food was also as good as home. Rupen bhaya is too good and friendly. Can be stayed with family.

A proper homestay , with a very beautiful view . Very beautiful and polite people in this place. The homestay has a very beautiful view from the balcony. Love the Homestay. Even the homestay owner offered us free breakfast. And also helped us alot . Homestay (also home stay and home-stay) is a form of hospitality and lodging whereby visitors share a residence with a local of the area (host) to which they are traveling. The length of stay can vary from one night to over a year and can be provided for free (gift economy), in exchange for monetary compensation, in exchange for a stay at the guest's property either simultaneously or at another time (home exchange), or in exchange for housekeeping or work on the host's property (barter economy). Homestays are examples of collaborative consumption and the sharing economy. Homestays are used by travelers; students who study abroad or participate in student exchange programs; and au pairs, who provide child care assistance and light household duties. They can be arranged via certain social networking services, online marketplaces, or academic institutions. Social networking services where hosts offer homestays for free are called hospitality exchange services. Homestays offer several advantages, such as exposure to everyday life in another location, the opportunity to experience local culture and traditions, opportunities for cultural diplomacy, friendship, intercultural competence, and foreign language practice, local advice, and a lower carbon footprint compared to other types of lodging; however, they may have rules and restrictions, such as curfews, facility usage, and work requirements, and may not have the same level of comfort, amenities, and privacy as other types of lodging. Lodging refers to the use of a short-term dwelling, usually by renting the living space or sometimes through some other arrangement. People who travel and stay away from home for more than a day need lodging for sleep, rest, food, safety, shelter from cold temperatures or rain, storage of luggage and access to common household functions. Lodging is a form of the sharing economy. Lodging is done in a hotel, motel, hostel, or inn, a private home (commercial, i.e. a bed and breakfast, a guest house, a vacation rental, or non-commercially, as in certain homestays or the home of friends), in a tent, caravan/campervan (often on a campsite). Lodgings may be self-catering, whereby no food is provided, but cooking facilities are available. Lodging is offered by an owner of real property or a leasehold estate, including the hotel industry, hospitality industry, real estate investment trusts, and owner-occupancy houses. Lodging can be facilitated by an intermediary such as a travel website. Regulation of short-term rentals can include requirements for hosts to have business licenses, payment of hotel taxes and compliance with building, city and zoning standards. The hotel industry has lobbied for stricter regulations on short-term home rental[2] and in addition to government-imposed restrictions, many homeowner associations also limit short term rentals.[3] Europe edit Amsterdam: Hosts can rent their properties for up to 30 nights per year to a group of no more than four at a time.[4] Short-term rentals are banned in certain parts of the city.[5] Barcelona: Vacation apartments are subject to the highest rate of property tax; platforms must share data with regulators.[6][7][8] Berlin: Short-term rentals require permission from authorities. Hosts can rent individual rooms with the condition that they live in most of the property.[9] Ireland: Short-term rentals are restricted to a maximum of 90 days per year for primary residences; registration is required with local authorities and planning permission is required where a property changes use from private residence to full-time short-term rental. However, compliance with these requirements is minimal, with one study finding only 38 listed properties had the required planning permission, out of 25,000.
