We stayed at this property for two days and were disappointed with several aspects of our experience. The location is extremely difficult to access—situated down a very steep road and hard to find. Upon arrival around 6pm, we faced a lengthy and frustrating check-in process. Despite booking a private smoking room through Agoda and receiving confirmation that our request was accepted, the staff informed us that smoking was not allowed in any rooms, even those with balconies. This led to a prolonged discussion with the reception and management, delaying our check-in by almost an hour. The room itself was not clean, with visible shoe marks on the floor. There was no TV, limited WiFi (only 2GB per day), poor-quality coffee and tea, and no basic amenities such as toiletries or slippers. Housekeeping was not provided on the second day. The hostel enforces numerous strict rules, making the stay feel restrictive and unwelcoming. Additionally, the property is far from the main square, making it inconvenient to reach. We also noticed that other guests were allowed to smoke on their balconies, which added to our frustration with the inconsistent enforcement of rules. Overall, our experience with the location, cleanliness, service, and amenities was very disappointing. In comparison, other hostels like Zostel or Hosteller offer better service, fewer restrictions, and a more comfortable stay. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone looking for a pleasant and hassle-free experience

If you are a solo traveller and doesn’t bother sharing room then its the best place that you can stay on a cheap price. Cost- I stayed here for 1 day at 500/- rs. Rooms- 5 person sharing a common room and bathroom, beds- seperate and with own reading lamp, charging point, comfy beds and covered with curtains. Hygiene and cleanliness- excellent Water facilities- available Wifi- free and available Common room- available with lots of indoor games Lift- available Parking space- available Highly recommend place if you doesn’t bother to live in sharing place. Roof- chairs available and views are good Food- not available you have to order online from 3rd party sites

Loved My Stay at GoStop McLeodganj! GoStop Dharamshala McLeodganj is the perfect blend of comfort, good vibes, and stunning views. The staff is super friendly, the location is ideal, and the atmosphere is great for meeting fellow travelers. Clean rooms, chill common areas, and a rooftop that’s perfect for sunsets. Can’t wait to come back!

Stayed here for 3 nights. It’s a cozy place for people like us who enjoy sitting outside, playing games, and relaxing. The hostel staff and location is also very good.

We had booked a delux room with Mountain View and The location is the best. You can see the mountain from the room. The room is spacious and the washroom is big. A very nice and big common area to chill. Since we went during off season we had the common area all to ourselves to enjoy. Food quantity is less but taste is okay. The hostel is situated in Bhagsu near to Bhagsu Nag and Waterfall and Mall Road is 1.5kms-2kms If you like to walk.

One of the best places to stay at, especially if you're a solo traveller. Good crowd, great host, lovely views and food. I'd definitely stay here next time I'm in Mcleodganj. Woild recommend 10/10.

I was recommended GoStops by a friend who frequently stays there. I chose it for the first time, and my experience was excellent! The property was very clean and hygienic and the staff was extremely friendly and supportive.

Everything here is good on paper - location, staff and atmosphere. But the vibe was very un-hostel like. Maybe because of how commercialised Mcleodganj has become but the hostel is designed like a hotel, which sounds good at first but the vibe was dead even though we went during Christmas. There were some questionable decisions made in this weird combo of a hotel and hostel. We stayed at the 8-person dormitory and the wash basin was outside the WC and bathroom. The bathroom was shower-only and didn't have any taps to begin with. There were no water taps in WC either. It was very weird sharing room with strangers when everyone had to come outside the WC or bathroom to wash their hands or brush their teeth if you wanted to use a basin. I wouldn't go to this establishment again.
