NillGood place, nice views and great service. Loved the food and the live music at night too. We checked out in the morning and ended up needing a place to freshen up after out trek in the evening and they accommodated us for that too and even helped with random stuff (thanks for those polybags you scoured for our wet shoes dude, I'm never forgetting that).

NillI went on a solo trip here and because zostel I met so many amazing people, created so good memories. The cafe is also quite nice with good food and nice ambience. The place has a great open space with games and books. The people and the host are so friendly and helpful that you won't miss much and there is a solution for every problem. The terrace view is just perfect. I'm sure I'll go there again. It was a 10/10 experience for me.

NillAmazing Stay at Zostel! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our experience at Zostel was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, the staff was incredibly sweet and welcoming. They went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. The atmosphere was so friendly and relaxed – it truly felt like home away from home. The food was also top-notch! Delicious, fresh, and always served with a smile. Every meal was a treat, and there were plenty of options to choose from. Overall, we had a memorable and delightful stay. I highly recommend Zostel for anyone looking for a cozy, hospitable, and enjoyable place to stay. Can’t wait to come back!

NillVibe is awesome, people complain about location but I found this perfectly located considering you are here to relax & not shopping. Once you climb around 50-70 stairs, you are just 1 km from famous spots here. Staff in very friendly & generous. It was a wonderful experience here.

NillAttaching pics and videos as a proof. Must see. What was supposed to be a relaxing getaway turned into a nightmare. I had a booking from June 12 to 15 and ended up checking out early due to repeated hygiene and service issues. Short description: Zostel is 100 filthy, slippery, mold-covered steps down from the main road. Unclean toilets and bed. Rude staff. Zoom pics to see unclean toilet seat (urine) Here's everything that went wrong in detail: 1. Unclean Beddings in Room 601 Despite the staff assuring me that the beddings were changed, I found hair all over the pillows and sheets. I had already sanitized the room myself, but had to get the linens changed again — wasting time and killing the mood right at check-in. 2. Broken Lock, Rude Staff As we were heading out for dinner, the door wouldn’t lock. When I raised this, the staff brushed it off with a casual “bro chill.” Extremely unprofessional. We were forced to shift to Room 603 and redo the entire cleaning and sanitization again. 3. Locked Out of Room 603 After dinner, the new room’s lock failed again. Staff acted like I didn’t know how to use the key, only to struggle with it themselves and finally hand over a replacement key. 4. Filthy Toilet Despite Claims of Cleaning The toilet seat had dried urine stains even though they claimed the room was cleaned. A staff member came and wiped only the top — ignoring the actual problem. I have photos as proof. 5. Aggressive Café Service Ordered breakfast, was told it would take 10 minutes. After waiting 25+ minutes, I was still told “10 more minutes” — and got snapped at: “Bhai kitchen abhi khula hai, time to lagega.” Others who ordered later were served before us. 6. Location is Misleading The zostel is 100 filthy, slippery, mold-covered steps down from the main road. Stray dogs, trash, and a completely different reality than the clean, aesthetic pictures shown online. Total mismatch between expectation and reality. 7. Refund Only After a Battle I requested a refund for the last night (June 14) due to these issues. Was told it’s “not in policy” and was passed around between Zostel and MMT. Only after a lot of chasing did I get the refund — but that doesn’t even begin to cover the stress and discomfort of those two days.

NillI had a wonderful experience at Zostel during my workation! The ambience, especially on the top floor, is peaceful and refreshing with great scenic views — perfect for working or just unwinding. There are indoor games and common areas to hang out, and the Zostel team organizes daily sightseeing tours which make it easy to explore the area without much planning. The location is also a big plus — it’s conveniently close to the McLeod Ganj market, the Monastery, the Dalai Lama Temple, and the Museum. You can just walk around and soak in the local culture, food, and spiritual vibe of the place. Everything is easily accessible. One thing to keep in mind: the property is a bit of a climb. You’ll need to go up and down about 96 stairs every day, so it feels like a daily workout — not a major issue, but worth knowing in advance. Overall, it was a great stay with a nice mix of work, exploration, and relaxation. Definitely recommended for solo travelers, backpackers, or remote workers looking for a refreshing break!

NillTerrible experience overall. The staff was extremely unhelpful and unprofessional, making the stay frustrating from the start. The entrance to the Zostel is in terrible condition not only are there way too many steps, but the area is also dirty and poorly maintained. Definitely not recommended. Avoid this place if you value basic cleanliness and decent service!
