Avalon Inn Goa

What a beautiful oasis I have found! ||I booked this based on the reviews, and was not disappointed. ||I arrived in the middle of the night at around 4am, after being picked up safely from the airport in a cab arranged by Avalon. ||Salvador was waiting for me with a friendly welcoming smile, the key to my lovely room, a bottle of water and the wifi code. Everything else (payment, passport registration etc) waited until the next morning once I had rested. ||Wonderful! ||It was pitch black when I arrived but I opened the door once I’d slept for a few hours and the view literally took my breath away. |Beautifully tended gardens, blue skies and a cute selection of brightly coloured cottages. |Throughout my stay here, Erica and Salvador couldn’t be more accommodating and helpful. ||Spotless rooms that are safe and homely. I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. |Very close (couple of minutes walk) to Ashiyana yoga retreat so this was a perfect place to stay before and after my one week yoga retreat. ||Thank you Erica and Salvador and all the lovely staff for making me feel safe and welcome. ||I hope to be back one day.

I was for the first time in India and overwhelmed by exotic chaos, noise, smell in the streets. But here in AVALON INN we felt like in the clean paradise garden. Great European standards of hygiene. Comfortable beds and pillows. Friendly owner. drinkable water free of charge. Exceptionally quite nights, (compare to the hotels in he town.) It was with to walk few imitates from the noisy Mandrem centre! I felt very save, relaxed and pampered. ... I personally compared many hotels in the town and this is truly exceptional place. For the reasonable price.

Exceptional! Avalon Inn is an oasis of calm and tranquility. Beautiful well loved gardens and is just so peaceful and serene. Erika and Savio go above and beyond to ensure your stay is just perfect. Such great hospitality! The rooms are soo clean, immaculately maintained and bonus housekeeping every day. This is an ABSOLUTE GEM! You won’t want to leave.

I am so grateful to Erica and Salvador for the wonderful experience they provided to me at Avalon Inn during my stay. They couldn't do enough to help me and make me feel safe and supported as a solo female traveller. I stayed in a bungalow which was immaculate and so clean and cleaned daily. It was also so quiet, serene and peaceful and away from the noise but still close enough to many restaurants and the beach too. I will definitely be returning when I come back to mandrem :)

I loved my stay at the Avalon Inn. Erika and Salvador were very helpful, and always up for a chat. As a solo female traveler I felt very safe in this location. It’s about a five minute walk from the beach, where there are plenty of restaurants and beach chairs to hang out in, but it’s away from the very busy touristy areas. Erika’s restaurant recommendations were also great-the food was very good and I did not have any stomach issues, which is always a plus! I also did the heritage tour which was arranged through the inn, so got to see Panjim, Mapusa and Old Goa by car, which was a lot of fun. I also loved that I could set up a taxi to/from the airport and the rates were extremely reasonable.||||They stock the inn with inexpensive water bottles so you don’t have to worry about drinking water. Cleaning is done daily, and my cottage was spotless the whole time I was there. I found the bed to be very comfortable. Although it was very hot outside during the day, the fan inside the cottage kept it very cool, and at night the temperature was perfect.||||I stayed during December, and I probably saw a total of two mosquitoes the whole time I was there-it was not buggy at all. The cottages have mosquito nets but I found it almost unnecessary to use. There are occasionally frogs and geckos that may visit you, but I found them very cute! I also saw some beautiful birds such as peafowl and kingfishers on the property, so if you’re into birdwatching this is a great place to stay. ||||Thank you Erika and Salvador for an amazing stay!

Since 2009 I travel to India and in 2011 I came to Mandrem and fell in love with the place. At beautiful ( peaceful and quiet) Avalon Inn I held 2 Yoga-Retreats so far and came back 4 times myself to enjoy the familiar environment. I like Erika’s reliable professional way to handle all important things like booking-arrangements and taking care of things you might forget (booking taxi to the airport) because you are so relaxed 😎 after a while and Salvador always has a smile on his face. I enjoyed very much teaching on the platform on top of the villa with seaview. For women traveling alone this is an absolutely safe place. Whatever you need ( Scooter, Taxi, daytrip) will be organized and they love to satisfy their guests with tips for nice day trips as well as nice recommendations for restaurants. They treat you like friends and share all they know about Mandrem and surroundings. I can highly recommend this place for a perfect holiday. Everything in the room is clean and the nice garden is well taken care of. It’s a special atmosphere here, come and check it out. I will definitely come back again.

Yes, I went back to Mandrem and stayed at Avalon Inn for the third time. I love the place; it is calm and the cottages and bungalows are cosy and the rooms even spacier. Happy with the very clean policy and even happier with the excellent and very friendly hosts who will do their utmost to make your stay as comfortable as possible. It is near the beach and many restaurants and other facilities, lots of yoga classes available closeby. Taxi pick for the airport; what could one want more? Going back, yes, and for sure. As you understand by now I highly recommend Avalon Inn (also if you travel by yourself like me).

Extremely clean, quiet place, with courteous staff. The attention to detail was seen throughout the property. Just be warned, if you are a heavy internet user, the single shared modem may frustrate you. Overall an amazing experience
