Serkong House

This was causally booked for one day but liked it so much we booked it for more days, the location is great advantage, everything is nearby from here. I loved the staff, they are very helpful, there is good waiting area as well. Room is spacious and has heater and all other amenities too.

If you're looking for a convenient hotel with excellent views, clean room and great view, then look no further. My stay at new serkong house has been memorable. Rooms are clean, luxurious and spacious. Toilets are new and super clean. Location is very convenient as it is only few meters away from the main square with easy access to taxi and bus stand. Food at the restaurant is also very good along with the great view. Perfect for family and Solo traveller. I'll visit serkong house again.

It is the best hotel in McLeod (if you're not looking for something fancy) Small, cozy rooms with great valley view. Prices are very economical. Staff is extremely courteous. Restaurant is pretty decent, with outdoor seating overlooking the valley. Best part about the hotel, it's location! Very near to the main market, yet away enough to not be noisy.

Comfortable, clean, well equiped and spacious rooms. Fantastic views from west facing balconies. Excellent breakfast which can be taken on terrace overlooking the valley. Central location. Access is via a short but steep and rather unpleasant back alley which can be off putting when you first arrive. Don't worry about it.

As someone who has stayed at Norling House (Norbulingka property) multiple times, I am amazed at the poor quality and service at Serkong House. Rooms are not well maintained, landline doesn't work properly, TV was not working, sheets were smelling, and whoever was supposed to check all this prior to our check-in did not do their job well. Also, incase you have mobility issues, please beware as there are multiple steps to and within the property. The approach to the property is dirty and dilapidated. There is construction and traffic noise. Do not recommend.

Spacious rooms (suite), great value for money and a lovely view. The approach to the hotel is a narrow not-very-clean street and there is no access for a car. But if you persevere, the hotel itself is like an oasis in the middle of very busy McLeod Ganj. Make sure you choose valley-facing rooms.
