Hotel Norbu House

This place was a have of luxury in an otherwise frugal stay in India. Sure you’re paying for the luxury, but the kindness and care of the staff here was second to none. I was struck by the way they remembered my name between visits and even my health condition. They made me an early breakfast before my dawn flight and genuinely made me feel like I mattered - not something I’ve come to expect from the typical luxury hotel chains. The views from the terraces and from many of the rooms is stunning. Dawns and sunsets are breathtaking. Expect a walk down a narrow lane to get access. It’s worth it. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending.

Lovely, friendly and QUIET place to stay in McLeod Ganj.||Norbu House is sat high above the noisy Temple Road, but with a short cut down to Temple Road from within the hotel.||We booked via WhatsApp, and were made very welcome when we arrived. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. Good breakfast (we ate in town for our other meals, but all the food we saw at the hotel looked good).

A wonderful hotel stay at a great location, where one is overlooking the valley, as one steps out of the room. The open air eating area too, has a wonderful ambience. |It is one of the cleanest hotels in its category in the area. |The proprietor Mr. Wangdu, was very hospitable and accommodated my rather extended stay ie beyond the noon checkout, as we were at the meditation centre. Appreciated that very much.

The hotel is very clean, well located, there are signs for it everywhere, so you won't get lost. Breakfast is ok, the view from the terrace is simply amazing, you can even see the snowy mountains. I liked that the shower is separated by a glass door. Very colorful interior, Tibetan symbols and ornaments everywhere. I didn’t like that they brought a mattress as an extra bed for my daughter, she was upset, she just wanted a bed, and not sleep on the floor on a mattress. Well, from the window we had a view of the roof.

Good stay. Foos is great and property has a good view. I stayed here for 2 nights with my wife. and enjoyed the hospitality. The hotel is very close to mcleodganj market. I recommend the hotel .Mcleodganj is very crowded. Norbu House has its own parking.

Our stay at Hotel Norbu House was absolutely wonderful. The family that owns it is so hospitable, and cares deeply about the needs of the guests. They made our stay extra special by taking care of several details of our trip. In terms of location, it's close to the Dalai Lama temple/Tsuglagkhang and main square, but far enough from the busy streets that you will not hear any noise from traffic. It's also higher up the mountain, giving you great views of Dharamshala and the surrounding mountains. The hotel itself has great room service, clean rooms and bathrooms, great views from balconies, coffee shop beverages and a breakfast buffet. You can also enjoy both a beautiful sunrise and sunset.

My stay at Norbu House has been so comfortable and relaxing. The room was amazing, luxury. And the view from the balcony of my room, is something I will always remember. Seeing Kites flying below my window, as you peer down into the valley and watch the world go by. And then look up into the peaks of the mountains . I felt so welcomed by the owners, and am so grateful and touched by the attention of Seldron, who say with me for a while on my first evening in the dining room. And how she gave me sound advice, and information regarding things to do and see. All the staff were so friendly and attentive. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Lovely hotel with great views. Varied menu with delicious food and the breakfast was good too. Staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were comfortable and quiet. The location was great and easy to walk into the town with many restaurants shops and bars. It's not a high end hotel but homely and comfortable and we would recommend staying here.
