Hotel Sakya Kunphen

I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was a terrible experience. The staff was extremely rude and unhelpful throughout my stay. To make matters worse, there was no warm water available, and the lights were out for the entire night, leaving us in complete darkness. Additionally, the hotel’s policy of switching off mobile connections was very inconvenient. The food was outrageously expensive; they charged ₹300 for a plate of poori bhaji that only came with 2 pooris. Overall, the stay was uncomfortable and overpriced. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Rooms are ok. No heated blanket available. Location wise its right next to kaza monastery. Parking available for multiple cars and bikes. Restaurant serves good food.

We five couples started our journey from Tabo and after traversing through Dhanker Pin Valley |we reached Hotel Sakya Kumphen in Kaza. This nice quiet hotel is just adjacent to the Kaza monastery and opposite to the last petrol pump before Manali. We were met by the manager Poonam and his staff was so courteous and well mannered. The welcome drink and later the dinner and next day the breakfast were very well presented and very tasty. Rooms very good, views excellent. We stayed for two days. Great stay

We stayed in Kaza for 4 days and was very satisfied with this hotel. It has simple but cosy bedroom with clean bathroom. There was no wifi in room but you can get it at the common area. Which also has reading section with lots of good books. ||||Plus value for this hotel as it share the sam compound with Sakya Monastery. Every morning we can hear the chanting and even can join the prayer. ||||This hotel is very accessible too. We took bus from Tabo and told the bus driver to drop us off at the Gas station, which apparently very near to the hotel. ||||The staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave the best service and the best food. The owener, Mr Tsering is really nice. He's originally from Spiti and likes to tell stories about people there. They also informed us about the festival and we got special pass to attend (even went backstage!). ||||It was a good experience, we wished we can stay longer.

My stay here was very comfortable and a memorable one. This place is very accessible and located within the sakya monastery complex, having neat clean rooms, cozy bedrooms and a clean washroom. The staff was good and welcoming. The food served is delicious as well. The fuel station being quite close is a blessing for riders like us. Overall a truly satisfying ana memorable experience. Definitely recommendable to all travelers.

We had a very comfortable stay at such a beautiful place Kaza at such a great height. Neat and clean room and washroom. They had a cute and cosy restaurant serving delicious food. The hotel was just next to the monastery and in front of the World's highest petrol pump. This place is recommendable! 😊

The hotel is located in New Kaza, at a walking distance of ~10 minutes from Old Kaza and the market. ||||The amenities of the hotel are quite good for the price. I was told that the rooms are generally available ~2200 Rs for online booking. I booked it on the spot and got the room for 1500/- per night. It would have been a better deal to get it around ~1000.||||The bed room was cozy and comfortable. The bathroom offered hot water throughout the day. The only problem was there was just one charging point. Though the hotel mentions the availability of free WIFI via a sticker at the reception, the same is available only near reception and dining area and not near the rooms. The wifi speed was minimal that allowed only whatsapp messages to arrive and would not serve any other internet needs.||||The dining area looks like a modern cafe and menu is pretty rich from options across cuisines. The food is fairly priced and meal for 2 should be sorted out within Rs. 500/-.

A lovely place to stay in Kaza. Right next to the monastery, the hotel is centrally located. Neat and clean, with very friendly staff that makes you feel right at home. Nicely done up rooms and bathrooms and delicious food make the experience of staying at Kunphen an unforgettable one. :)
