Masterclass food and impeccably professional and friendly service along with hygiene standards, all three at same place. Best in this budget hotels as they maintain the property actively unlike other hotels in Srinagar in my experience of stay at various hotels in Srinagar. If there’s a place that defines comfort and mouth-watering indulgence in entire Srinagar, it’s Pinegrove Hotel. Over the course of my 10-day stay here, I had the pleasure of discovering that this isn't just a hotel—it's a warm embrace of classic hospitality, I would no doubt choose Pine grove for my future stays as well coz they have set the bars already too high :))

Pine Grove hotel is a charming cosy heritage property in the heart of Srinagar, in a by-lane just off the Dal Lake. Staying here for 5 homely nights with my husband, made me nostalgic and emotionally secure as it reminded me of vacations I took in my childhood with my parents in the 80’s and 90’s. As the hotel has that old world charm of yesteryears, when Kashmir was the backdrop of all the Bollywood films set here. The warm hospitable and charming owner, Ashfaq Siddiq Dug who I had the opportunity to chat with, an engineer with several MNCs in Bangalore before he took up charge here is the third generation running this hotel built by his grandfather, that was launched in 1987. The services, of each of the staff here who were polite, warm and homely, was excellent as one would expect of typical Kashmiri hospitality. This included the reception and restaurant waiters - always ready to offer personalised help and service. Special mention must be made of Irfaan Rashid, whose services were excellent - personalised and homely, on all the 5 days and round the clock. He started with being flexible and offering us a room of our choice that I just loved. This after changing 3 rooms as I wanted the best, overlooking the front garden and street. He was patient to ensure I liked my room, that everything in the room was impeccable before he left us to settle down. The vegetarian food was very good, just like home and all days we had both breakfast and dinner here. Over breakfast we were asked what we would like, and then served, and then it was heartwarming to come back home for dinner that Irfaan always brought, ending with Kashmiri Phirni. The services of the car hire agency recommended to me here by the owner on my asking, Amaan Riders, was like the icing on the cake. We used the car all day, on all 9 days of our stay in Kashmir. Umer Wani, one of the two owners of this travel agency along with his brother Amaan - picked us up from the Srinagar airport, drove us daily to all locations like Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Pahalgam, and more, then took us around on the Srinagar city tours and finally dropped us back to the airport. The duo even sent me an awesome chocolate birthday cake at the houseboat we were in the last two nights. All in all, they all seemed like family. There was a man named Shabbir at Pine Grove, who ticked me off a few times with his arrogant condescending attitude, but I just avoided him. I had to mention this here or anyone reading this review might be tempted to think I was paid to write it. 😀 My husband and I are both writers and authors of several books including many travel books by my husband who is a senior journalist. That writerly habit, perhaps explains my lengthy review. We recommend this place to those looking for a budget friendly, safe home outside of home in Kashmir. Warmest regards, Shuvashree Chowdhury. We retired IFS officers had a reunion in this hotel from 7 th to 11th June. We were 25 people from various States with families. It was a pleasure staying here. Not one complaint from anyone. Very good rooms, linen, prompt room service, prompt assistance, lovely courteous behaviour from all., nearness to Dal lake and market. Fully vegetarian hotel with very tasty food. Grand stay suiting middle class tourists. Want to stay again.

Location was very beautiful and Hotel room was big size and good. Hospitality was also fantastic though breakfast was average and hot water was also limited time (Morning 7am to 9 am). All staff members are friendly and helpful but two guys namely MUZAMIL and SABBIR were so nice and very helpful and their approach towards my stay was fabulous. Must visit again.

The receptionist is rude not cooperating to adjust anything....we went to book a room in person he shows us room and after we asked about car parking he said it's full bcz people book online and you have to park in public parking. We still understand the situation and asked to park our car till everyone hasn't arrived with their car to park . But he is totally rude deny to adjust even said - " Kya mai apne customers ki car ko aage peche he krata rhu. Sb 5-6 bje aajaege." - are we not the customers or are we not paying and cooperating. What if some customer car is inside all cars and he wants to take out then he won't say anything. This is very unprofessional and bad
