Myself and my husband had a wonderful time on this house boat. We really enjoyed the hospitality and the food was delicious. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Omar went above and beyond to offer us any help or advice we needed. We would highly recommend this accommodation if you are staying on Dal Lake. We look forward to returning in the future.

Suzie and I were treated like honoured family not just guests. The house boat is relatively new. It looks traditional in every way, wood panelling intricate carved decorations everywhere. Noora was the mainstay of our time, providing every wish and desire, he has a wonderful dry sense of humour and we are still days later chuckling over his little anecdotes. There are generally two staff present and the small wood fired heater in the bedroom was just fantastic, kept topped up and insulated against the early winter chill. The Shikara traders who would normally be known to be pushy respected our hosts enough to be turned away with a simple no thank you in Hindi or English or just a shake of our heads politely. The views are stunning and the five times daily call to prayer are a beautiful reminder of the Muslim majority but very tolerant nature of Kashmir and Srinagar in particular. Shafi and his brother Bashir truly embody hospitality and care. The food is simple and honest fare, both being vegetarian they made sure the cook took our needs and wishes absolutely seriously and delivered everything from dosas and sambal to porridge for breakfast. Our hosts are respect and that sense of respect was reflected on us in the way we were treated. Right opposite the mooring of the boat across the lake and up a hill is the Temple of Shankaracharya. Several hundreds of years old and older by a 1000 years than that of all the parts are considered as a whole.

Kashmir ~ Dal Lake ~ Young Alzira was my home base for ten days of exploration of the mystical and magical Kashmir. Young Alzira is next door to another Alzira boat that share a dock and are owned by a family that is nothing short of extraordinary. Omar, Noura and Kalich are Kashmir based and Shefi is based in Delhi - between them, everything you need is provided for. This was December - cold nights, cool days, perpetual fog and impending snow. Yet, a fire was always burning on the boat and food and tea plentiful. Things just happen in Kashmir, you don't ask or try to control, you just go with wherever it is taking you and allow the magic to unfold. Immense Gratitude for the Experience and even more for these Beautiful People that make it happen. 🙏💛🪷

This is one of the best houseboat i have ever seen i love the view and everything there was very nice and staff was very helpful and nice. Nora is very cooperative and helpful very hygienic place to visit nice view from boat and food was very yummy i suggest you all to kindly visit Young Alzira house boat i am sure you will all enjoy that From Neeraj Chandhok Shalu Chandhok

Very wonderful house boat.. Please try this experience.. Service was very good...Very neat and clean House Boat. Inside the house boat looks like princess🤴palace. Hospitality is amazing. The food which was served are very tasty and traditional Kashmiric authentic food. The caretaker of the house boat is a nice, kind, helpful and ever smiling person. We enjoyed a stay in a houseboat and were ever memorable. Very scenic and the lake view is fantastic and very accessible for purchase around the floating market and Nehru Park. I strongly recommend everyone to stay in Young Alzira and New Alzira Houseboats with different experience.
