OYO 3772 Mahatta Home Stay

Stayed in Super Dlx garden facing ground floor room it was very spacious well decorated and has comfortable sofas and bed. A big bath room some of the furniture here was ageing and unclean could be better maintained. The shower was not very effective. Having stayed in many hotels in Srinagar including Lalit I would like to stay here again. Wish this place was non veg or at least serves eggs for breakfast. |Definitely insist on the Kashmiri veg food it’s one of the best I have had. But it was only possible for 1 meal out of 4 nights we stayed there. |What could be better is the breakfast as they served Maggie for and punipaniyaram (a Tamil evening snack without chutney) . There are not much options for breakfast. They should say on booking that they will serve fruits and bread/ parathas only|The non Kashmiri dinner we had once and decided not to have again as it wasn’t tasty and neither had much options. It’s a paid buffet so one can avoid it. There are many restaurants close to this place, walk. |The Jehlum promenade is 10 min walk so try that for the morning walk. |The staff is minimal and polite don’t expect dressed up butlers. This is more like a home stay managed by the staff.

We stayed at P. Mahatta Homestay in Srinagar for one night. The place is excellent to relax. It has a beautiful ambience with garden full of roses and other flowers. Our room was very spacious and clean with a clean attached toilet. The service was good. The breakfast was complementary which offered varieties of food. Lunch and dinner were available cost of which was Rs 450/- but we did not order that.

The rooms were home beyond home. Not the typical hotel set up. it was a beautiful experience to stay in Mahatta. Rajbagh is the best location in Srinagar to have a very peaceful and calm stay. Food was excellent. Its a pure veg restaurant full of delights. I loved the ambiance, the decor, the washrooms and everything simple yet elegant about this place.

We booked Mahatta Home Stay with the expectation of a pure vegetarian experience as promised. Shockingly, we found chicken bones scattered around the property, which is a blatant contradiction to their claim. The staff was unprofessional, unhelpful, and the owner was outright rude. What should have been a pleasant family stay turned into a deeply disappointing experience. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

⭐ 1/5 Mahatta Home Stay falsely advertises as a vegetarian property. We found chicken bones lying around, which was disturbing.There is no reception care taker was nit there.Extension phone was not there and my parents are senior citizen so they need to walk down every time if they need water or any service requirement which is very inconvenient.The staff care very less about our concerns, and the owner was extremely rude when one of our family member raised an issue. This experience ruined our family trip, and I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a decent stay. Expectations hurt but this time it hurts more then because it badly ruined my entire family trip.

Beautiful place located in a premium area. Rooms are spacious and well done. We had Kashmiri food for dinner one day and it was perfect. However breakfast was not up to the mark... Options were limited. We were served Maggi, paniyaram and sandwich.
