This is more than a hotel. It’s serenely located view from all the rooms, the quality of the room itself, the exemplary food meticulously designed to vet one’s appetite and the customary Kashmiri hospitable staff make this hotel a top choice for avid travellers. We will come back.

The only real recommended way to travel to Kashmir if you have slightly deep pockets is to stay only in the Abchapri properties …||||And we know from the stark contrast of when we decided at the last moment to travel to Kashmir for the Independence Day long weekend when Altaf couldn’t accommodate us but kindly booked us into 2 other properties for 2 of 5 nights when he was booked out (more of that in reviews of those properties) ..||||Qayaam Gah is easily one of the best properties to stay in in Srinagar especially if you have an aversion to larger chain hotels and their standardised offerings (be it being one among hundreds of guests every day, the menus in their restaurants, the quality of food in their menus et al ).||||While at the senior management level they could do for some introspection on how to add some depth and personalising touches to what is essentially a boutique property (for eg hot/cold towels and a welcome drink for each time guests return from a trek/sightseeing, or a fun towel arrangement on the bed or amuse bouches with every meal), what is highly commendable and makes this a boutique experience still is the junior staff. ||||From all the restaurant staff ( many like Sai Krishna being Keralites Co-opted from his Kerala Neeleshwara, and whom you are startled to meet/ see at the very other End of India :-) to helpful Archana who may be the designated Yoga instructor but doubles up as much more…||And Noor the ever smiling, ever caring and helpful driver||||And of course the similarly smiling and willing Tabassum Ji , their Kashmiri chef whose local cuisine offerings easily surpass the mundane triteness of the overall chef…||||Her Maas Ras is to die for ( even if her wazwaan is not waza standard but not bad for a small hotel ) .||||Will remember my few days at Qayaam Gah with the greatest pleasure (followed by a night and two days at Abchapris Sukoon (see relevant review) of equal pleasure and comfort) .||||Thank you !

Just a low budget accommodation in a residential area. One will have to rely on whatever food the owner provided without any choice. No standard market around the boarding. Public transport hardly available

Sufficient parking space available. Nice accommodation available. Rooms are neat and overall customer service is satisfactory

If you are looking for guest house then here is QAYAAM where you can experience all the facilities under one roof. believe me QAYAAM's staff is so friendly
