Hotel Poonja International

I would like make this review on the experience I had in this hotel which is a zero star hotel. It is one of the worst experiences I had in this hotels , the room I booked was Deluxe room. 1. The rooms are very obsolete and old all the taps leak. 2 Rooms are not maintained hygienically ,they were insect found along with mosquito that too in a AC room. 3 . We had a 1 year old child with us , when requested for a masquito , even after repeated request to the reception there was no response and the behavior was very rude. 4. During the time of check in we were told That the rooms are provide with hot water 24/7 , but this is a biggest false , we had called the reception and informed that that the hot water was not available in the tap 3 hours before , but there was no response even after multiple follow and visit to the reception. 5. The staff of the reception are too rude even after coming to the desk and telling our problem , they kept on with their work and there was no response at all. I would kindly request all the traveler’s who are planning to stay in this hotel , to kindly avoid this hotel , there are very good hotels near which are affordable. Kindly stay away from the hotel.

Very courteous and helpful staff, who booked my room in advance on phone though i was uncertain about my trip. Made payment later. Room was good though AC which wasn't working was rectified when brought to notice. |Buffet breakfast simple and sumptuous. Help for arrangement of transport also readily done by reception staff. Hotel near main market so convenient.

Average hotel. It's a 3 star ⭐⭐⭐ hotel. I did online booking and price was ₹1881 for non AC one night. You will get 2 single beds if you book this. Cons The service was not at par. The rooms are old and stinky. Washrooms are ok. The towels are old and dirty. The staff didn't even sprayed room freshener. The towels were replaced and still got dirty towels. The staff were not so cooperative. Good You'll get toilet kit. Beautiful lobby and lift. Nice restaurant

The room was neat and clean. The location of the hotel is perfect as it's right in the centre of the city. The breakfast served was good and they had a nice variety. Special mention to Mr. Shetty who is the housekeeping incharge. He was prompt, kind and very helpful.

Its a very old hotel that's why location is good...food is ok. Rooms are ordinary. But you want to feel like you are nothing on this earth talk to their receptionist...looks like they even doesn't have any education. Third class, third rated, cheap receptionists...

Ongoing Nightmare with Hotel Poonja - Overcharging and Abysmal Customer Service||||Our family's ordeal with Hotel Poonja began in July 2024 and has continued through November, with no resolution in sight.||||Initial stay (July 2024):||- Overcharged by 3 times the agreed amount (~18K instead of 6k)||- Falsely claimed our card had declined, despite charges going through thrice||- Promised auto-cancellation of extra charges within 2 business days - never happened||||Attempts to resolve (July-November 2024):||- Sent 6 emails||- Made 20 phone calls from the US||- Had a family member visit the hotel||||November 2024 follow-up:||I returned to Mangalore and personally visited the hotel 7 times this month. Each visit was met with:||- The same excuse: "The manager is not available"||- Staff arguing among themselves, blaming the accounting team vs. reception||- Shockingly unprofessional behavior, especially from the receptionist who laughed about the refund delay||||The level of incompetence and potential fraud is astounding. Not only have they held onto our money for months, but their staff's behavior has been nothing short of disgraceful. The receptionist's lady laughter about our situation was particularly offensive and unprofessional.||||This experience goes beyond poor service - it feels like intentional deception and theft. I strongly urge potential guests to avoid Hotel Poonja at all costs. The risk of overcharging, coupled with their complete lack of customer service and accountability, makes this hotel a hazardous choice for any traveler.

I had a chance to stay here for a couple of nights with my family. One main point is the prime location. The room amenities needs to be given a check, the toiletries needs to be ramped up. Front office desk was pleasant and a warm gesture, especially Finosh. He ensured that our needs were met. Would definitely recommend, but would like to have better rooms with toiletries that would cater a family.
