Zero Safety not and reception avaliable or nothing any else You can't go outside after 7pm. Terrible. Don’t be lured by the price: budget travellers can find much better options at similar price points. This place has all the hardship of a miserable motel, and completely lacks charm or character or advantages of location. Firstly, the location is no good—very limited food options surrounding. Secondly, the staff are largely absent, which is actually ok as when they’re around they’re sleazy and dismissive. Thirdly, the room is a shambles: broken locks, dirty bathroom, stained and torn sheet that (singular—don’t expect anything extra) that doesn’t fit the moist mattress, ants on everything, a loose and loud ceiling fan, and taps and lights that don’t work. There are much better options at the same price point—don’t let them tell you otherwise.

I stayed 2 days , on Oct 16,17 , rooms are spacious, affordable prices, peace ful place , very good service, responsible, kind hearted , cordially, very polite owner and family , quick response in trouble, highly recommend, go ahead , have a great experience.

We stayed at Palmy residency because it is run by Joseph who also runs "paddy land tours", and with paddyland we spend 2 delightful days in the backwaters. We arrived with the driver that had faithfully driven us all the way from Mahabalipuram, and the sight of a car with driver was definitely a rare occurrence here. Joseph obviously feared we would object to the simplicity of his guesthouse. But why would we? The room was big, with one of the best hot showers of our trip (regardless of the great range of prices we were ready to pay), overall clean, and this was a room at 650 rupies. It could have profited from some thorough cleaning, the type that does not only remove obvious dirt, but also the grime on light switches and the like. On the upside, when we came back to the guesthouse after our trip to the backwaters, we were warmly invited to use the shower again and to stay as long as we liked.

I turned up without a booking but was quickly accommodated in a good sized single room with an ensuite bathroom, where the hot water actually worked! The host is a genuinely nice guy who, unusually, takes a proper pride in what he does. It's a well placed residency for access to the main canal and the lake. The shops are about a 10 minute walk. Decent restaurants are not abundant here (but that's not the owner's fault!)

Very clean and comfortable rooms. The backwater tour that they organised for me was exceptional. The staff were friendly and helpful - even sending pictures to my mobile of every page of a notebook I left behind! I only stayed for two nights, but would have been happy to stay longer.

We stayed at this residency for 2 nights in October 2017. We stayed 3 girls in one room. The room was nice and big, the bathroom was clean AND they even had HOT WATER!! (that is truly a luxury in Kerala!). There was also a ceiling fan. The 2 things I didn't really like about the room is that it was a little musty (but then again, that also seems to be a standard in Kerala) and there was no Wifi reception in the room, only in the lobby. The reception area is really nice and the location is good cause it's close to the boat jetty, bus station and walking distance from a few restaurants. Its also good for people on a budgets, it's inexpensive.

Basic stay with clean bedsheets and clean toilet. one thing to improve is to include mosquito net as is it the hot season, and we got bitten abit over the night. ||||Also has reasonable basic laundry service. Best not to give clothes that are dear to you. ||||It is a convenient location to the bus terminal and has nearby places to eat.||||Sufficient for 1 to 2 nights stay.

Rooms are good and neat. Must say thing is very near to KSRTC stand. 200mts walking from ksrtc stand. TV or wardrobe was not available in the rooms...that's the one drawback to say.
