Sree Sankara Nilayam Guest House

The location, pricing, availability of a/c and parkeing make this place stand out. It has everything one would need - decent rooms, elevator for the elderly, temple at a mere 100m. The only downsides - you have to go/ order out for breakfast/ dinner, although restaurants are just about 300m away and the rooms are in need of some restoration.

5 stars for the amount that we pay. Yes, the rooms are not 5-star or 3-star standards, however, all the needed facilities are there. The number of cars that could be parked is 6 - 7 and the road that leads to this is a very narrow one which gets congested with bikes parked across. Looking at the convenience of reaching the temple, all those negatives can be forgotten.

Shankara nilayam very close to temple entrance. Rooms are very good.hot water and lift facility is available. Beside this there brahmana samooha building ,where free lunch is provided for only brhmin community.

Best place to stay for a day's visit..at East Nada....very close to the temple. No frills etc...just the basic ammenities provided

We stayed just 1 night here. This is our 2nd time. The rooms were dirty and there's no proper light in the bathroom. We were alloted room on the 3rd floor and the lift stopped working. We had to climb up and down the stairs about 4 times including the check out time lugging 3 huge suitcases. Imagine the plight of senior citizens in this situation. We will never go back to this place neither recommend to anybody.

I came as single and stayed in room no 202...compact non AC room...clean bed, towel, soap provided...very near to temple...for Brahmins free lunch (you can donate something after eating) organised by guruvayur brahmana samooham...also this Sree Sankara nilayam managed by them..check in 3 pm and checkout 2pm as per rule...they might relax for 1 or 2 hrs on request...per day 560 rupees ...

We normally stay at this place during our visit to Guruvayur and found it to be good. But this time we had a very bad experience. The room was not clean, dirty walls, no light in the bathroom. Besides, there was frequent problem with the lift. It was not working for most part of our stay. I don't think I would come again.
