SPOT ON 67496 White House Beach Resort

I stayed at Whitehouse Beach Resort for a month March 2013 under the new management , but I was disappointed. I expect that rooms are cleaned and bed linen changed at least every 2-3 days, but here when this hadn't happened after 4-5 days , I had to ask managers to carry this out. They were sitting on the entrance sofa for the whole 30 days that I was there and rarely moved, not even to wash their meal dishes. They do not seem to understand the basic requirements for managing a hotel, even at basic level.

We booked what we thought would be a bit of luxury for the Christmas and new year period, but when we arrived we were shown a tiny room with the double bed pushed up against one wall and very little room to walk around the rest of it. There was a ceiling fan but no TV.||We asked to see something better and were shown a much larger room with a double and single bed, but it was filthy.||||We decided to cancel our full booking, spend one night there and look for something better the next day - as it happened we found something an order of magnitude better and for slightly less money within a couple of hours.||||The edited 'highlights';||1. The guest kitchen facilities mentioned on their website turned out to be a large area on the roof filled with used tins and dirty cooking utensils. I think this was used by the owners to cook the included breakfast as they showed alarm when we asked if we could have a look at it. ||2. No top sheet, towels, soap or toilet paper provided. This is normal for a cheap budget hotel but considering the rate we were paying this was unacceptable.||3. The floor needed a good clean. OK the hotel is a few yards away from the beach so sand on the floor is to be expected but not after it has been supposedly cleaned ready for new guests.||4. The room was lit by one low energy light bulb. All other light fittings either didn’t contain a bulb or the bulb didn’t work. When we pointed this out the manager fitted a fluorescent tube where one was missing.||5. The curtains were covered with insect eggs.||6. There was a TV but the power socket it was plugged into didn’t work.||7. There were several air vents around the top of the room – none of these were covered with insect netting. Needless to say we woke up the next morning with a few bites.||8. The toilet cistern leaked so the bathroom floor was always wet.||9. The bathroom was filthy and the toilet was in dire need of some bleach and a good brushing.||10. The hot water heater for the shower didn’t have a plug - its wires were simply pushed into the socket!||For £20 per night this was a terrible hotel. Perhaps if we had been paying under £5 per night we would have put up with it.||||We discussed the misleading information on the hotel web site with the manager who blamed the previous owner and said that he needed to find a good lawyer and gain access to the site and update it. I don’t know what he would update it to say that would justify a £20 price tag, in my opinion the entire hotel needs a good clean and some considerable renovation.

Revisited Lighthouse Beach in 2007 with the family.||We organised our flights ourselves after experiencing the sardine flight the year before from Gatwick. We went with Emirates stayed in Dubai the night and then on to Trivandrum. This experience was much better arriving a great deal better than the year before. ||We had organised a pick up from the airport and were quickly whisk to our large house, The White House, the rest was sheer relaxation.

White House Beach Resort...Nice fancy name but the place was decent too. Nice clean and well maintained rooms. Basic amenities and all other stuff was available too. It was a good and nice stay overall.

we stayed at White House Beach resort Kovalam With My Family. I am very much surprise that we find very good accommodation in less price. Their services is very good and staff is too good. My family is satisfied with them and next year we will visit them again, surely.||Roman Joseph

La guest house est tenue par un couple absolument charmant qui déploie toute son énergie à vous faire plaisir. Ma chambre était au calme avec un grand lit. La salle d'eau très fonctionnelle. Enfin, j'ai eu autant de linge de toilette que je voulais et les draps ont été changés très souvent pendant mon séjour. Parfaitement situé dans un petit chemin tranquille à l'écart de la promenade, à 1mn même pas de la plage. Un bon restaurant est sur le toit, avec une cuisine familiale. Les prix sont doux.|Merci pour cet excellent séjour que je renouvellerai.

The guest house is run by an absolutely charming couple who deploy all their energy to please you. My room was quiet with a large bed. The very functional bathroom. Finally, I had as much bathroom linen as I wanted and the sheets were changed very often during my stay. Perfectly located in a quiet little path away from the promenade, not even 1 minute from the beach. A good restaurant is on the roof, with home cooking. The prices are low.|Thank you for this excellent stay which I will repeat.
