Pooja House

Located in a quiet residential area, Pooja House is clean and welcoming. My favorite place: the veranda also for pranayama and meditation. 15 minutes walk from everything: town, South cliff, North cliff. And if you like animals in the tranquility you can enjoy the sight of mongooses, birds, micro frogs pass through the garden. The location has changed but the welcome and atmosphere remain 🔝 Highly recommended

The house is situated in a quite residential area in close proximity to railway station. However we faced a problem finding it as online the house name is Pooja house but in reality 'Chaitanya' is written as the house name. The rooms and bathrooms were clean however the double beds in rooms are neither king size or queen size but they are TEEN size. Two average built adults cannot fit properly and have a comfortable sleep. It seems beds were made for owners' kids. I don't understand why people don't keep wipers/ mopers inside the bathroom. It could have helped to wipe the water of bathroom floor after using Also if you are old enough, you might face a problem with the temporary ladder used for climbing up to the house. It's not too wide and comfortable to carry your heavy suitcase up to the room. Rest all seemed okay.

This is a fantastic choice for Varkala. Katy and Babu are the friendliest hosts I've met in India and they really make an effort to make you feel at home. The house is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated in a peaceful and quiet location which is a 5 minute walk from the beach, shops and restaurants. I stayed in the dorm room which was really nice and had super fast wifi. They offer pickup from the train/bus station as well as breakfast/dinner, all for a small fee. For the price this has got to be the best place to stay in Varkala and I very strongly recommend it.

I booked a room for one week in this lovely guesthouse. I had another bedroom when I arrived as the girl who was in the bedroom decided to stay longer. So Katy proposed to me an other room. I say yes directly as the house is really nice. ||My room was clean and decorated with taste. It's. Lovely place to meet nice people. Lot of différents Space where you can meet the other guest, having a tea and share a breakfast. ||Katy and Babu are really friendly and welcoming. They will always try them best to find a solution and help you when you need it. ||I recommend you this place if you want to be relax and in a cosy house. Really close to north cliff, nice beach and restaurant. ||

Me and my friends stayed for 2 nights in Pooja House. The place is amazing, the rooms are clean and confy, and it has a perfect location. But what it really made us feel at home was the nice, friendly and helpful way in which Babu treated us. Hope to come back one day!

After 4 days I've decided to stay for at least 3 weeks! I was met with a warm welcome after my short walk from the Helipad. If I'd had an Indian phone number and thought to call ahead I would have been collected from the bus but I wasn't that organised! The facilities as basic but lovey and clean and comfortable and just perfect for the kind of level of accommodation I was looking for. I'm staying in a single room which has no bathroom but there is a toilet block with shower and loo out back, washing machine facilities for a tiny fee if needed and also breakfast if you'd like. |The veranda is great to lounge on a hot day, read a book or sleep and there is an indoor lounge also.|It's a 5 minute walk to the beach or you can get a bus for just a few rupees to varkala town to get to a ATM or to use the post office etc.|Great place to come and relax and enjoy some down time from the more crazy parts of India.|Highly recommended!!!

I've spent fews weeks at Pooja house. I felt there at home... Host are kind, helping, funny, breakfast is homemade with live. The house is surrunded by a peaceful ansd green garden. It's perfectly clean, well decorated, with all equipment needed (+++ to the outside shower 😍) You're at 5 minutes walking from Varkala'hills shops, beach and sunset 😍. Pooja house is not heaven but almist Thank you Cathy and Babu 😍

We stayed for two nights. The room was without A.C. but even in the hot month of April it was comfortable, two fans are inside. |The room was clean, a mosquito net was available, but not needed.|The beds are clean, the mattress are a bit hard, but we slept well.||The hosts, Kathy and Babou were very welcoming and hanging out with them at the chill out area was fun.||The place is very near to the beach promenade (3 minutes walk).||For this price it was perfect and we totally recommend a stay at pooja house. When we will be in varkala again, we'll return to pooja for sure.
