Negatives:||Breakfast wasn't tasty, and there weren't many varieties.||The rooms weren't clean at all and had lots of insects, and when we asked that they be cleaned and for insect repellent to be sprayed, they only swept the floor and sprayed air freshener :/||||Positives:||The hotel is walking distance from CST. They were flexible with the checkout time. We were given the chance to switch rooms when we complained that one had too many insects. The bathroom in the double room was spacious. The hotel exchanges dollars at a good rate compared to exchange offices in the area. When we asked that we pay at the end of our stay as we hadn't exchanged yet they were fine with it (as opposed to other hotels in Mumbai which request the money upfront). The front desk clerks speak good English and are generous with their local tips. The place is really quiet. AC and water heaters are available.

The first impression can be very bad. As someone said, if you have seen "Apocalypse Now", the first scene of that movie can tell you very well how the rooms are. The showers are in the room, and the toilets are in a common area. There's no hot water in the rooms, but in a common bathroom near the reception. Of course, you will need to shower with buckets, indian-style. Despite this, the rooms were clean, and the general hotel is clean as well. Staff cleans everything everyday. Breakfast is served free of charge, and includes chai tea, and a couple of toasts. It's good. Staff is very friendly and they take care of you. In the morning, they knock your door offering you chai tea, like a room service. It's a very nice gesture. If you are posh traveller who wants to stay in a 4-star hotel and be disconnected of the reality of India, well, this is not for you. However, if you want to experience the real india, this is a very good option. And after a few nights it gets very cozy, as the people that stay here are not tourists, but indians from other parts of the country that work here for the long-term, so you can see them studying and working in their rooms. Very nice to reflect on the indian life style.

For people who are continuously on the move, this hotel seems like a decent place to stay for a night or two. Being closer to the main city (south mumbai) it also gives you access to a good night life and 10 mins walk will get you to the gateway of India near the coast. Though there are some rooms that don't have an attached bathroom, but given that its more or less like a hostel, and the cheap pricing at a premium location, it's worth all the money.

The rooms are spacious and well maintained. All floors except the top floor are accessible by lift. The hotel is located near CST railway station. The hotel has 24 hours check out time, which is convenient. However the rooms don't have telephones for contacting the reception or restaurant. The restaurant menu and the complementary breakfast has limited food options.

DONT STAY HERE!!! We made the mistake becaue the pictures made it look nice, but the pictures are very misleading!!! Beds and pillows are not comfortable, the sheets are dirty, and the shower is absolutely disgusting. The shower would not drain. The toilets are also gross. And NO AC!!! We stayed one night then had to move into a hostel that was so much nice and only a few bucks more.

Its like you are in a prison. We had a 5 persons dormitory for 1 nights. It was dirty on the floor and our bathroom was really dirty. We had NO hot water. The toilets are more dirty. You also dont get a blanket. It is the cheapest hotel I found in Mumbai but its too expensive. Just like the rest of Mumbai, overpriced.

Great price, as previously noted. Hands down the cheapest hotel in Mumbai, whether you choose private rooms or the more economical dorms/shared rooms. Very backpacker friendly. Also happens to be close to all the important tourist traps. Internet was down when I stayed, but even normally has limited time availability, which is why I docked the review for facilities. Service was great with free breakfast (fried rice with toast) and hotel staff were happy to run errands around the city for tips. Everyone spoke great English. Laundry is available in advance for a price. Showers are limited on each floor and communal. There is a private bathroom without shower in the room.

The superb location, halfway between Victoria Train station and Crawford Market to Colaba (although the first one is closer). Is pretty simple, everyone in the neighborhood knows Windsor Hotel and will indicate the direction to it. It is rather a hostel after all, even though the room has shower and sink, just the toilet missing. There is a balcony. Quite clean. With the staff there is no problems. There is wifi in the common rooms, although it was reaching our room (5 metres). In the morning it was quite nimble, in the evening very slow.||Conveniently, the neighborhood is full of eateries for every taste and budget. There is even a beer bar.
