IL Palazzo Hotel - The Boutique Heritage Resort

"At Bertram's hotel" is a book written by Agatha Christie about a hotel that has maintained an old world charm. IL Palazzo has forever reminded me of this book, without the sinister underpinnings of course. I just spent two fantastic, relaxing days at IL Palazzo. From the moment you step out of your vehicle to the day you leave, you are totally pampered. After every meal, we were stuffed to the gills. IL Palazzo's raison d'etre is the food. It's just a gastronomic delight, one course at a time. I'd never have ordered any of the vegetarian soups if it had been on any menu. Thankfully I didn't miss out because it was served with the food. Some of the continental items were a miss, but all the traditional Parsi dishes like Patrani Machhi, Akuri, Dhansak were excellent. The rooms are very comfortable, and you feel like you have gone back a 100 years, as indeed this heritage hotel is almost hitting the century mark. The owner Cyrus is such an easy going person, it's easy to see how that's seeped into the exceptional service provided by the staff. A special shout out to Dileep and Vinita. I normally carry my own tea with me. But it was not necessary here. I got great mint tea, just the way I make it at home. An absolutely delightful place

Just got back from a 2 night stay, ...so where do I begin...superb, old world charm yet with all modernities. Duleep and the rest of the staff, really take good care ..we had an infant with us...and they were so kind enough to steam his veggies and his food, that we had got along, for us. We had pure vegetarians in our group, and even though their menu and meals are a non vegetarian gastronomical delight, they saw to it that the fare for the vegetarians was no way lacking, in any count...we found that so so thoughtful. Had the pleasure of meeting both Perin and her son Cyrus, the owners of the property....so very gracious. There is a lovely garden, library, a swimming pool, table tennis, badminton, 2 pool tables, darts , carom....and so close to panchgani market We had a wonderful relaxing trip, would so love to go again. Highly recommended, much better than any 5 star commercial property. .

We have been visiting Il Palazzo Hotel (IPH) from a long time and I have lost count of our visits. Just back from a blissful 2 days at Panchgani at IPH. We go there for a stress buster vacation, eat good food, take walk in the large paved area around garden but mostly just chill and do nothing. We have seen three different managements and this time we met Cyrus who is at helm of IPH. He has made the almost 100 year charming property more beautiful and brought in few small changes for good. The old hands like Dilip & Vanita will look after you and will ensure that you are fed well. This heritage property with all old world charm in the beautiful surroundings have to be experienced. The food quality, quantity always exceed our expectations and they don’t cut any corners in that. Big thank you to Cyrus who has invested his time & efforts in IPH and continues to run this legendary heritage despite of his busy schedule overseas. Highly recommended to go for a peaceful family time!

I had a very good experience staying here. The food is super tasty, served with lots of varieties. The staff is very courteous and prompt in their work. A pleasant environment. The owner of the hotel Cyrus is a wonderful person.

Excellent property. It’s an heritage Bunglow built in 1925. Caretaker Mr. Faram Irani is an excellent host. Very helpful and caretaking staff. We had the best of Parsi food served with utmost love and the quantity and taste were up to the mark. Loved their well maintained garden. Ample parking space.Separate dining my area for large group. Pet friendly. Overall it was the best vacation we ever had and all thanks to Mr. Faram. A must place to book when you are in Panchgani. Highly recommended.

This is one of the oldest hotels in Panchgani. It is built in typical hill station architecture with windows in the front to let in the sunlight when it is cold. The food in this hotel is amazing. They feed you till you can't eat anymore. The menu is a mix of Parsi, Indian and Continental fare. Ill Pallazo hotel is very conveniently located. You can walk upto the beautiful, world famous Table Land from the hotel. The Panchgani market and bus stop are very close by. Panchgani is famous for its boarding schools. Do stay at Ill Pallazo.

IL Palazzo Hotel in Panchgani is nothing short of a paradise. We visited in May 2023 for a family weekend gateway for 2N/3D. Ambience was cooler and lesser humid during daytime than Mumbai and evenings were pleasant with mercury at twenties. IL Pallazo Hotel is a Boutique Heritage Resort. Owned by Perin Hoshang Davierwalla and family, it’s one of the oldest (built in 1925) and perhaps Panchgani’s most famous Heritage Resort. Spread over one and a half acres of greenery, framed by stately silver oak and regal eucalyptus trees, it’s old yet well maintained charm made our days. Well-manicured lawns and eye-pleasing gardens soothe the senses who wish to escape the tedium and stress of city life. Old World charm blends seamlessly with modern amenities and facilities including a 5 ft. deep gradational swimming pool (small recreational purpose, not for hard core swimming), 120-meter walking track, games room (incl. 2 pool tables, dart, carrom & table tenis) full generator & CCTV back-up, and Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the resort. Altogether they have 9 guest rooms, equipped with air conditioning (on extra payment), a mini fridge, 32 inch LCD television with satellite dish TV selection. Rooms have an average size of 300 sq ft with 14-foot-high ceilings and a 120 sq ft exclusive Veranda space. All rooms face the gorgeous gardens and manicured lawns. Rooms have one king size bed and also a sofa cum bed which can accommodate another couple of bodies. Bathroom/washroom is as spacious as another room with separate bath & washroom area. Dining cum sitting area is just outside room on a veranda which is partitioned to keep your privacy from other inmates. However, the games room is also equipped with dining facility if you want to keep board & lodging separate. The resort provides ample parking space which can accommodate at least 10 SUV size cars, if not more. Seating areas are methodically placed with fixed and swinging benches across the resort including the garden area. You can enjoy quiet moments surrounded by Trees and Birds. Zen buddha garden and indoor games facilities cater to all your needs and preferences at any point of time. They offer lodging with full board option only incl. a hearty breakfast, a sumptuous lunch, high tea (tea/coffee with biscuits) and a delicious dinner. The Parsi cuisine, which features several legendary family recipes from owners, puts an emphasis on fresh, tasty home-cooked food, using quality ingredients and taking no shortcuts in preparation. Daily Pre-fixed menus include traditional Parsi dishes crafted by chefs from The Parsis. Guests can be served meals in their private veranda area attached to their rooms or can opt for alfresco dining in the open-air restaurant The Summer House or by the Poolside. Specialty in Parsi delicacies has versatile options focusing on authentic dishes that have a vast range of taste and spices. A few of the delicacies that you should definitely try are Gosht nu Dhansak, Salli Botti, Patra ni Macchi, Kolmi no Patyo, Marghi ni Farcha, and last but definitely not the least the Lagan Nu Custard, which will never fail to end your memorable feast on a sweet note. And portion sizes are for giants. Nevertheless, all foods are to die for and you will not stop till your stomach is about to burst. Mr. Faram is the manager cum one of the owners of the resort. Fortunately, we could meet Mr. Cyrus, another owner of the place who shuttles between Pune and Panchgani periodically. Humble, gem of persons and customer satisfaction is one of their main goals. Just opposite to the resort, an excellent municipal park is there which has all kinds of exercise equipment for adults and play items for children with a well laid walk path surrounding the entire park. After all, meals like a hanging person’s last wish should be supplemented by some walk & exercises, eh! Rates are not cheap, in fact on a higher side. But you won’t repent considering what you are paying for and getting. I’d love to return back sooner than later in IL Pallazo Hotel.

Best place to enjoy and relax with family or friends. Food here is amazing and super tasty. The menu is mostly delicious all time favorite parsi cuisine. The manager Mr. Faram Irani looks after the entire property and takes pains in making the best for all his guests. The property has beautiful and colorful garden well maintained.
