Hi everyone, as a Googler staying here, I’d like to share my experience. Before coming here, my expectations were very high after reading the reviews that praised the owner and the rooms. But after booking a deluxe double room for 5 days at ₹1500 per day, my experience was awful. So let me begin: 1st Issue – Early Check-in: They refused to provide early check-in, even though rooms were clearly empty. However, they gave us a temporary room just to rest, which had a strong smell of smoke. 2nd Issue – Room Allocation: We were finally given a room at 1 PM. I had booked a deluxe double room with a city view, as mentioned on their site. But when I entered the room, it turned out to be a triple-bed room with no window. Before arriving, I had confirmed multiple times with them that I need a room with a window, as I tend to feel suffocated. Based on their suggestion, I booked the deluxe room with a city view. Despite that, they gave us a completely different room. When I called the owner, Navdeep Singh, and asked why we weren’t provided the deluxe window room, he replied, “We gave you a triple-bed room,” and started arguing with me. He couldn’t give any proper reason and told me my booked room had been given to someone else for a day. How is that possible? I had booked the room 5 days in advance and even paid in advance. Instead of apologizing, he kept arguing and even said, “If you want to leave, just leave the hotel.” I was shocked. Many reviews mentioned the owner is humble and polite — clearly not the case for me. At that moment, I felt like the negative reviews were the honest ones. 3rd Issue – Room Condition: When we were finally shifted to the deluxe room, the bedsheet was wet and dull. I immediately called the staff to change it. To my surprise, the staff started arguing, saying “All bedsheets are like this, it's just the color.” Seriously? I could clearly see that it was wet. I’m not blind. I even took photos, which I’ll post here. Even the towel they provided was dirty there was a red stain on it (not sure what it was). You can see that in the photos as well. 4th Issue – “City View” Scam: They advertise rooms with a city view, but in reality, you can’t even slide the curtains because if you do, people from neighboring houses can look directly into your room. So basically, the “city view” is just a direct view into someone else’s house. Completely misleading. 5th Issue – Location: The hotel’s location is really bad. The roads are extremely narrow, and cabs rarely come this way. The only good thing is that the Golden Temple gate is nearby. Other than that, the market is quite far, and you’ll have to walk through narrow streets often while dealing with stray dogs, both during the day and at night. Conclusion: My experience with the room, the owner, the staff, and the location was awful. As someone who leaves honest reviews on Google, I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. Even at ₹1500/day, it’s not worth it. You’re better off booking hotels near the Heritage Walk or Rangla Punjab area, you’ll likely get better service and better value. And honestly, maybe the owner only behaves nicely with foreigners, who knows. Also most important they will turn off the AC randomly from the main switch located at the reception and u need to call them again and again to turn it on, very awkward thing. And the person at reception will close the door of hotel at night 12PM if u will come late you need to kick the glass door just like hostel... The funny part in my entire 5-day stay, I didn’t see a single guest inside or outside the hotel. That alone says a lot.

It is nice experience staying in this hotel. Navdeep sir is owner of this hotel. Room is nice , cleaned and more over the staff is very helpful and corporate. I booked premium room other one are on ground floor which will cost you around 1000 rs and are above average one . I talked with navdeep sir on call . Navdeep sir wordings are not fake . He is genuine person . Nearest to Sri darbar sahib walking distance 2 minutes.

This is the perfect spot if you're looking for a newly built place within walking distance of the Golden Temple. The staff is super welcoming and warm, went extra mile to accommodate our needs and ensure we arrive at the hotel without any hassle. We highly recommend G R Residency for a stay that offers both comfort and convenience!

Very Nice and well Maintained Place at a very reasonable cost near Harmandir Sahib. The owner is very hospitable and the place has one of the best Amritsari Kulcha I've had in my life. Recommended for everyone planning a visit to Amritsar.

Our two-day experience at Amritsar was elevated by the cosy, calm environment Hotel G R Residency provided us with. Despite not having an immediate view from the hotel itself, it being located just behind the Golden Temple makes the commute much easier. The rooms were beautiful and felt luxurious, well-equipped with TV, AC and the washrooms with geysers. The service was on-point.

This hotel's location is perfect for visiting the Golden Temple, very close and convenient! The staff were so friendly and helpful, they really made my stay enjoyable. My room was spotless and i felt very safe throughout my visit. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay. Five stars!

I had a highly disappointing experience during my stay at this hotel. There was no cleaning staff available, and the hotel staff displayed an unprofessional and arrogant attitude. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
