Hotel Golden Crown- Hotel near golden temple

I booked a room at *Hotel Golden Crown, 2710 1 24NEAR DR LAL SING KOT MAHAN SINGH, Amritsar, 143001* via the **Goibibo app** for 28th June 2025, using a coupon to get a discounted price of ₹915. My check-in time was 1:00 PM, but due to our travel schedule, we arrived at 11:50 PM.||||The first red flag was **misleading location information** on the app. The Goibibo listing claimed the hotel is a 5-minute walk (approx. 500 meters) from the Golden Temple, but in reality, it’s over **1.1 km away**. This caused unnecessary delays and confusion, especially at night, and local residents confirmed that the location on the app was incorrect.||||Upon reaching, the hotel gate was **locked from the inside**, and the listed contact number **(+91 8288881808)** was not reachable despite repeated calls. After a long wait, a staff member finally opened the gate but initially **denied any online booking**. He argued that the hotel’s rate is ₹1500 and refused to acknowledge my booking through Goibibo.||||Adding to the stress, **Goibibo’s customer support is extremely difficult to reach**—there’s no direct help, only IVR and OTP verification, which was further complicated because I booked via my brother’s account. This was late at night and made the whole experience even worse.||||Eventually, after a lot of arguments, the hotel grudgingly allowed us to check in. But to our shock, they **deliberately assigned us a room on the 4th floor**, while lower floors were visibly empty.||||Upon entering the room, we were horrified to find **a severely damaged bathroom**, as shown in the attached photos. The **ceiling was broken**, with cement and plaster debris scattered across the floor. **Iron rods were exposed** from the roof, making it extremely **dangerous and unhygienic**. The **toilet was filthy**, with **broken tiles, a leaking sink**, and a **completely unsanitary setup**.||||When I complained, the staff **refused to change our room**, instead offering to let us use the bathroom of another vacant room — but not sleep there. I was traveling with my family, and it was deeply uncomfortable to have to walk to a different room just to use the bathroom, especially at night. After strong arguments and saying I would report this online and on social media, they finally allowed us to move to a better room.||||**This experience was horrible** — not only due to the **dirty and unsafe room**, but also because of the **hotel’s arrogant and dishonest behavior**, and the **lack of customer support from Goibibo**.||||📌 **Important Notes:**||||* **Photos attached** show the damaged ceiling with debris and broken tiles in the bathroom. These conditions are not only unhygienic but also dangerous.||* The hotel **lies about its location**, **doesn’t pick calls**, and **tries to extort more money** upon check-in.||* **Goibibo has no active customer support**, making it hard to resolve any issue in real-time.||||---||||🚫 **I strongly advise others NOT to book this hotel.**||✅ Use more reliable platforms like **MakeMyTrip, OYO, Cleartrip, IRCTC, or Ixigo**, which offer better support and verified listings.||||This was one of the worst hotel stays I’ve had, and I hope my review helps others avoid the same disappointment.

Location of hotel is very useful especially if your stay petiod is short. Important tourist places at walkinv distance. Visiting golden temple multiple times becomes easier. But you might have to compromise on room size. Else rooms are clean, food is good and staff behaviour is helpful. Moreover easily accessible from the temple and bus stand. Walking accessible.

It's an amazing hotel. We stayed here for our college trip. Famous places like Jallianwala bagh and the Golden Temple are at a walkable distance from this hotel. Try to reach early as the streets get crowded as the sun rises. The food was really good with Amritsari kulchas included. I hope they would have kept Lassi as well but i guess that's because it was winter already. There were veg and non veg options. The breakfast was served rooftop which wasn't very feasible to accommodate many people as it had rained the night before and less seating was available inside. There were heaters or air conditioners in room so it was cozy. Staff was good.

I loved this stay as location is near to tourist places, railway station and bus stand too. Visited golden temple multiple times becomes easier. Rooms are clean and staff behaviour is helpful.

cleanliness , location , staff and food is awesome. All the things are nearby and easily accessible. They also provide travel service like sightseeing and daily bus service. One of their staff on reception arrange a cab for me which gives me great pleasure and complete sightseeing of entire Amritsar city anf drop me after getting dinner in hotel.||10/10 to the hotel services.||best hotel in amritsar recommended

Very friendly service . Our family came from Canada and stayed in Hotel Golden Crown. It’s very clean Hotel , very good customer service, very well taken care of by staff . Regina recommended to anyone who is travelling from abroad. It’s Very affordable hotel close to golden temple .

Nice hotel in Amritsar. We stayed there for one night mainly to visit temple and Wagah border. We came to hotel by 9AM and they given us the room without any questions about early check-in etc.., The rooms are sufficient for a couple and the location is good especially, near to the temple and the bus station. The staff is very friendly, especially “golu”, who taken care of our multiple needs like cleaning, charging our powebanks when we are out of room, managing our checkout by arranging drops etc.., Nice people Nice hotel Nice stay …
