Sparrow Juniper Tree Near MG Marg

I stayed in this place with my family for a week period, as we came for the family vacation. The service from the reception to the food were amazing. The staffs were so helpful approachable and friendly. We felt this place like a home. I highly recommend to all ,whoever comming for the vacation and looking for comfortable and friendly stay this place is the best. It's Very much in walkable distance from Main town MG Marg. I highly appreciate the entire service team for their great and friendly service with a warmth of hospitality. I specially like to thanks , Passang, Prashant and dixen for their valuable service. I really appreciate the great service provided by the housekeeping team too who were very prompt and attentive whenever we required the service. I wish all the best to you guys Keep the good work .

I stayed for 3 nights in June 2025. Room (triple bed) was spacious, food was great. Service was excellent. I specially want to mention Mr. Anosh for his capability to handle reception, guest requests and travel desk. Other staff are also polite. Only minus point is - lights and plug points are not adequate.

We had our anniversary celebration at this hotel and it was a truly wonderful experience. The staff was extremely cooperative, helping us with all the decorations and even assisting during our photo sessions, which made our day even more special. The rooms are spacious, clean, and offer a beautiful view of Sikkim. The food was good, simple and satisfying. The hotel is located a little bit in the interior, but MG Marg is just a 10-minute walk away, making it easy to reach the main area. The only minor issue we faced was with the power supply. There is no generator backup, so if there's a power cut, you might face some inconvenience — although such instances are rare (we were just a bit unlucky that day). Overall, a great experience, and I would definitely recommend this hotel for a comfortable and memorable stay!

Bloody hell service!!! There is no water in hotel and if you want to complain no one will pick up call. All guests are waiting for water, whereas before check in they have to pay full and you will get no service from them at all. Before coming think twice!!!

From the moment I arrived, everything was seamless — the check-in was quick, the staff were friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was calm and inviting. The room was beautifully designed with a perfect balance of comfort and elegance. It was impeccably clean, with luxurious bedding, a spacious bathroom, and thoughtful little touches that made it feel extra special. Every morning, I woke up feeling refreshed and ready to enjoy the day. The hotel’s restaurant offered outstanding meals with fresh flavors and beautiful presentation. Whether it was breakfast, lunch, or dinner, every bite felt carefully crafted. The overall environment of the hotel — peaceful gardens, cozy lounge spaces, and a relaxing spa — made it easy to unwind and enjoy every moment. In addition to the beautiful facilities, the location was ideal: close to local attractions but tucked away enough to provide a private, serene escape. I can confidently say that Sparrow Juniper Tree Hotel offers a five-star experience in every way. I would return in a heartbeat!

I had booked two rooms at this hotel from 28th to 31st July 2025. Firstly, the room for two adults was stinking as the floor mat was wet and maybe not washed since many days. We couldn't understand the reason for the stink, until we removed the door mat out. Staff/Cook at the kitchen was very rude as he told me "Aap soch samaj ke baat kijiye.". This was when I ordered Dal Makhani and he said it's not available and I could take Dal Fry instead of that. I told him that, even the previous day when I ordered for fish chilly, he had told that it was not available and I had to adjust with prawns chilly. I informed him that the food items which are mentioned in the menu are not available at the restaurant and on top of that, the hotel policy did not permit outside food and the customers had to eat whatever the kitchen staff tells. This is not done. On this, the staff at Intercom Number 444 tells me "Aap soch samaj ke baat kijiye". After this spat, the lunch which I ordered at 1.50 pm comes at 3.10 pm due to his arrogance. I had ordered chicken fried rice, chicken in garlic sauce and what I got was awful as depicted in the photos that I share with this review. The chicken fried rice was without any chicken and with lots of green peas, and the chicken in garlic sauce was prepared by using dirty stale fish fried oil that turned into a dish similar to chicken manchurian gravy with bones. After eating this I went to MG market which is nearby (only a good thing) and I vomitted and fell unconscious. I had to be rushed to the govt hospital nearby with the help of a retired police officer and the locals who came to my rescue. This incident shattered my high hopes of ever travelling to Sikkim. The food bills come with SGST and CGST at 2.5% which amounted to nearly Rs 5000 which is a shame on the hotel! They have given me the bills, photos of which I am uploading with my review. God bless the customers who check in this hotel and have meals at their restaurant.

Very disappointed. Deluxe room too small and with view on the opposite wall. No soap no shampoo provided. No mosquito cool provided. Seems the price asked is not in relation with the quality delivered.

If you are looking for a budget friendly and average kind of hotel in Gangtok, Sikkim, you can just book the Hotel Sparrow Juniper Tree near MG Marg. The environment and the service is average. Food price is high. Location a little down side of MG Marg.
