Hotel Greenland

I recently had a deeply disappointing experience at Hotel Greenland in Pelling. According to Section 7(2) of the Sarai Act, all hotels must allow people to use their restrooms in case of emergency. My wife, who is diabetic, urgently needed to use the restroom. We approached the caretaker politely with our request, expecting basic human decency. To our utter surprise, the caretaker (or owner) of the hotel not only refused our request but also rebuked us in a very harsh and unacceptable manner. This behavior is inexcusable, especially when it comes to health emergencies. As per Indian law, hotels cannot refuse the use of their restroom in such situations, and the response from the hotel was not just legally wrong but also deeply insensitive and in very bad taste. This incident has left us with a very negative impression of Hotel Greenland. We are sharing our experience to ensure that others are aware of the hotel's disregard for both the law and basic human compassion. Please book the hotel keeping in mind their rough behaviour

We stayed in this hotel from 3rd to 6th May 2023. Myself and my wife, both are senior citizen, stayed very comfortably, you don't have to climb stairs. All the facilities for staying are in the hotel and other facilities at hand shaking distance. Kanchanjanga View from the rooms & attached balcony is excellent. Moreover the owner is a doctor & his son Paljhor, an engineer, both of them took care of ourselves. I personally highly recommend this hotel in Pelling.

The Greenland Hotel is located Upper pelling. Just near the Sikkim bus stand of pelling. The rooms are very big enough and also neat and clean as well. Toilet has facilities of hot water and ample space as well. The views of Himalaya from Balcony is the worth of money. Food shops are also very nearby from this hotel. The owner is a very humble person as well the staffs.

I stayed at the hotel for two days in Oct, 2016. Major advantage of the hotel is its location. The hotel is located at Upper Pelling, Zero Point. Probably it is one of the best view points of Pelling. It is a Bengali Hotel. Most of the rooms are with view. ||Major disadvantages are:||1. It has only two staffs, one in reception and one for room service. Service is very poor.||2. Hotel’s restaurant is in basement. Quality of food is average, but only veg, non-veg thalis are available.||3. View rooms are spacious, but furniture are old and condition of toilets are poor. Super deluxe rooms are excellent.||4. No lift.||I like to inform all the travelers that there is no doctor’s clinic and medicine shop in entire Pelling

Reasonable hotel available at economical price located in heart of Pelling with good location and ambience. Gallery available along with unlimited bedsheets. Hot water facility is good also the water and electricity available for 24 hrs. Also there are lot of shops and restaurants available nearby.

It was nightmare for us. This hotel was booked by our travel agent. The check-in time was 12 noon. We went there at around 2 pm. When we went there, our rooms were still not ready. We had to wait for about 20-25 mins. There was no one at the reception. The hotel was understaffed. Finally, one person came and the check-in process started. After the room keys were handed to us we were shocked to see the bedsheet was dirty and still not removed. It was used be the previous guests. When we complained to the person at the reception, he instead of taking a look at it argued with us and said that the bedsheets are clean and there can be some marks which is normal. Washbasin is one of the room was not working. One of the room was damp. No towel or soap was provided. The hotel staff said that they do not provide towel or soap for guests who have booked through a travel agent. We finished our lunch and spoke to our travel agent to cancel the reservation. We had to wait for about 2 hours and after numerous phone calls we finally cancelled the reservation and went to another hotel. During all this, we found out that the person at the reception was actually a cook and the manager of the hotel was cooking and serving food to the guests. Pathetic hotel, rude staff.

Reasonable hotel at the prime location of upper pelling. The morning view of kanchanjangha from the balcony will fill your heart. I must say the behavior of all the staffs are very appreciable. Along with accommodation they can serve you some delicious food as per your request.

Very good behaviour. Cost friendly best to book at site .great view of kanchanjunga from balcony .hygienic and very safe .cctv on every floor . hotel at center of market . best to come here in my advice.
