CHANGU CHE RETREAT

We stayed there on 01.12.2024. Our room no was 107. The room was lavish with ample of space. View of mountains from the room was good but not covering the whole ranges. Service and food quality was also good. Would recommend this hotel as value for money. The hotel manager was also very humble. She guided us some routes as we have been there on bikes.

I recently stayed at Hotel Changu Che Retreat , and it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, the manager lady made me feel incredibly welcome. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and she even upgraded our room to a beautiful view room. I went with my family and she made sure my parent were incredibly comfortable. Her behaviour made us feel at home even while being away from Home. The room was spacious, impeccably clean, and well-equipped with modern amenities like high-speed internet, a comfortable bed, and a luxurious bathroom. I appreciated the little touches, like the complimentary toiletries, etc, which made the stay feel extra special. The hotel’s location is ideal as per my choice , the Kanchenjunga view was amazing both from the room and the restaurant. I had breakfast every morning at the on-site restaurant, and it was delicious with a wide variety of options. The staff deserves special mention – they were incredibly helpful and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed during my stay. I truly felt like a valued guest. I would highly recommend Hotel Changu Che Retreat to anyone visiting the area. Whether you’re here for business or leisure, it’s the perfect choice for a comfortable, convenient, and memorable stay!

The view of the hotel is amazing . The manager and the staff are very helpful. Nice ambience in and around the hotel . Overall a good hotel to stay with family and friends . The hotel is equipped with cctv which brings more safety to the stay. Recommend to stay at ccr😀

We were 4 person for a holiday trip and it was a memorable trip for us. View from the hotel is amezing,staffs of the hotel are very helpful,food was so delicious and mouthwatering, manager was so cordial.. over all it was like,' Home away Home.'

The Main tag line of the hotel is "Hospitality Begins With Us"..........But it must be "Hospitality Ends With Us"......... The receptionist lady is so arrogant, rude and full of attitude and the management of the hotel is also not good. The staff is fine. The cook/chef of the hotel must be changed also the receptionist lady. The Hotel and rooms and the view is so good but service and management is worst.

We were eight persons who stayed in the hotel Chung Chau Retreat in Pelling on 25 the and 26th May 2024. I have travelled all round the world and I have yet to find th WORST hotel like CHUNG CHAU RETREAT in Pelling. Smiling is one of the fastest and easiest way to create social connection but the receptionist in the hotel was found uncooperative and arrogant. We found following issues to rank this hotel the lowest grade hotel. 1. Rooms for Senior Citizens two floors down. On enquiring "We were not aware about the age of the persons." Usually the booking is done with Aadhar cards which shows the age of the Individual. 2. Electric plugs are old type not usable for charging the mobiles or use other gadgets. 3. The receptionist totally uncooperative and non smiling face - on enquiring for the nearby places for shopping "go outside, look here and there and you will find." 4. The corner of the central table in the reception area is broken and one of our member got injured. 5. Room no. 101 the tape of the wash basin broken. 6. On asking why can't you serve breakfast at 7 am so that we can go for our tours. Reply - *nobody in this area is serving that early." We could see that the hotel opposite served food early. 7. When asked for Omlette, "there are vegetarian people and we can't serve you in the dinning area" - it was served later on. 8. Non vegetarian dinner was served on the ground floor, insufficient quantity of food for 8 people. 9. If the hotel is vegetarian - we should have been informed. 10. The worst part was serving the breakfast (potato Poha) of the previous day - sticky (spoiled). 11. Frequent power cuts. 12. Wifi - internet connectivity issue. S.M.AMIN

Worst hotel service I have ever seen in my life. Please avoid this hotel. Even an OYO is better than this. Rooms No balcony, no ventilation, no fan, frequent power cuts. Service The receptionist lady should be fired immediately if the owners don’t want this hotel to go downhill. On checkin, she was being rude, arrogant unnecessarily. I thought thats how she is normally and so i ignored. Later on at 8pm we went to the hotel restaurant, no one was there. I wsked the receptionist lady and she said you are supposed to pre order at 7pm which she never told initially. Later on as there was no ventilation in the room, i asked for fan which she denied again. Then in the morning, as we had to leave early, i asked them to pack some breakfast which was already ready, and this receptionist lady again denied shouting at the service boy that tell them packing is not possible. Location 3km outside the main pelling. You can’t reach the main market by walk at all. Bottomline for the owners is to fire this receptionist lady and be considerate towards their customers rather than being so arrogant all the time. You can’t grow a business like this, sooner or later you'll go down.

It was a nice stay location and view is wonderful staff and the owner is very warm and helpful.Pocket friendly stay with nice memories of the Kanchanjunga view.
