Ejam Residency

During our Sikkim road trip (Mar-Apr 2025), we spend a night at Ezam Residency in Yuksom. It is located very close to Kathok Lake and surrounded by beautiful mountains. Very very peaceful and scenic place.||||It may sound crazy but I loved the rugs and furniture in the room.||||There is a beautiful guest room and library with many books. ||||What makes this place amazing is Hosts Doma Didi, Durga Daju, Karma and Dava Baheni. They were very soft spoken, always smiling and ready to help when needed.||||We really enjoyed local organic food they served us (forgot name of things we eat but we loved it). Breakfast in the morning was amazing too.||||It was warm gesture from Doma didi to give us red and yellow color scarfs as mark of respect while we were leaving the place, We will preserve and cherish them for ever.||||We really had great time, wish we could have spend couple of more nights here. We are already thinking of going back next year for Workation :)

Such a wonderful place! It felt more like a home than a hotel. So much attention and care for us weary cyclists. It is secreted away in beautiful lush grounds along a pathway to the door. So peaceful and so many beautiful flowers. The rooms are great and there is a lovely well stocked library which was a highlight - lots of books on India and Sikkim. We loved our supper and our breakfast - especially the Italian coffee. Thanks to Dorma and the family!!

Absolutely delightful. From greeting me with a smile at the entrance all the way through to a lovely farewell, Doma made this an incredibly special stay for me. The location is gorgeous, the garden and yard are perfectly manicured and cared for, my room was quiet, private and comfortable with a balcony overlooking the yard, the meals (I had breakfast and dinner each day) were delicious local specialties made with local ingredients, including herbs from the garden. The library is filled with a wonderfully eclectic selection of books; it’s a nice place to just hang out and read. The location is beautifully serene (on a clear day you can see Kanchenjunga in the distance) yet only a short walk from many interesting local sights and hikes. For anyone seeking a low-key, stunningly beautiful rural getaway in West Sikkim with incredibly hospitable and gracious hosts, I can’t recommend this highly enough.

Excellent homestay/hotel with superb service from the friendly family and staff. Great room at a very good price, and the food was also tasty and plentiful. Breakfast in the garden was a particular highlight of a lovely stay. Fab location at the edge of Yuksom near the coronation stone. Would definitely stay again!

What a real jem! Lovely family hosting with the whole family. Great sized room, hot water, superb food and Idilic location near to the lake.|All the produce used to cook are grown on site and lovingly prepared. Thank you for a most memorable stay.

The house is beautifully and wonderfully located, the rooms clean and nicely decorated. Especially the charming of Madame Doma characterise the style of the house. The food is very good, with the best ingredients from our own garden. I felt very comfortabel!

The residency is beautifully maintained and in a luxurious serene setting. ||The staff are fabulous and take great care and pride in professional service. ||The rooms are beautifully appointed and taking tea in the library is a must.||The food was awesome with some local specialties.

Doma is the best host, providing a very comfortable room for my stay before and after my trek. The breakfast on the front lawn was so relaxing and delicious – homemade pancakes or toast, oats and also a taste of butter tea. A great way to start the day. The dinners were also delicious, Doma is a great cook, making use of the organic produce from the garden. |The family provided a very welcoming environment, with 11-year old Ingwan carrying my 12kg backpack on the evening of my arrival, telling me that it’s not heavy. My stay at Ejam Residency was a wonderful introduction to the warm hospitality of the Sikkimese life.|A highly recommended place to stay!
