Hotel Astron

Had a horrifying experience here. We were booked for 2 days in Hotel Astron, Rajpura Road. On the night of our second day, one of the guests committed eve teasing against ladies in our group. Shockingly, instead of supporting us, the hotel manager and owner sided with the person responsible, allegedly because he had a strong political background. The hotel owner,Mr Aggarwal , was not at all supportive and did nothing to help or address our concerns. We had to stand firm and eventually called the police ourselves, who then took appropriate action. No guest should feel unsafe or unsupported in a hotel, but that was exactly our experience here.

Hotel staff is good but the bathroom's shower was broken and I had a hard time taking bath. Very bad experience. Also if you ask for another towel, they charge you 50 ruppe extra. I believe a couple of more towels should be allowed and anything above that should be chargeable. I may be wrong here, but that bathroom totally ruined my experience. Also rooms walls are quite weak, you can hear what's playing in your adjacent room.

I don't know exactly what the problem was with this hotel. It could have been the staff at the reception, or it may well have been the online booking system, which would have involved booking.com When we booked the hotel, we had a lot of things going on and were getting ready to travel. According to booking.com, we could book this hotel without a credit card. However, as soon as I made the booking, I got notice that I had to send 50% of our booking rate to confirm. I did that. Then never really received a confirmation of that payment (that I can find). The payment did go through, however. We showed up at the hotel a little late in the evening and feeling tired. The guys at the desk had no record of our reservation. It was very stressful. There's a definite problem here. The woman who had confirmed our reservation (Sonya) it seems, no longer works there. The staff phoned booking.com who could confirm the reservation and the payment, except that now other fees were added on. Once we got into the room, it was quite comfortable. It was a very nice suite on the 1st floor. The second night we stayed there was much nicer since we didn't have the hassle at reception. In fact, Anil was quite helpful. We asked about a heater for the room (it was chilly the night before). He told us it was a 300 rupee charge. We didn't think that a space heater would make that much difference in such a large room, so declined that. Then, Anil brought us an electric heater and said that it was free. And, it turned out, the heater really did help in the room immensely. Since we were going to be leaving early the next morning, I asked about a bill. I was told that we owed nothing. Then, as we were leaving the hotel before 6:00 am, we were told that we had to pay 60 rupees for the two cups of tea we'd had the morning before. We did not have the breakfast at the hotel (that we'd paid for) because it wasn't going to start until 8:30 am and we had to leave earlier than that.||This hotel could be (and should be) quite nice. Someone local going to the hotel and making the reservation would probably have made for a much better process. Anil was helpful, other personnel at the desk just seemed useless. I don't expect that we'll have another occasion when we'd want to consider staying at Hotel Astron. My impression is that there is definitely a problem in the management of this hotel.

A nice looking hotel with modern decor. Lot of issues : |- Only 2 bath towels provided, no bathmat, no hand towels.|- Cleanliness is not good. Things are dusty. |- Floor is always dirty and you can not walk bare foot. |- No tea coffee amenities in the room.|Kitchen opens at 8:30 am / 9am and till then you can’t have tea in room and this is.||

Perfect place to stay in Dehradun. I stayed there in August and must say that its perfect. Would recommend that if you want a perfect stay and comfortability please contact Mr. Sanjay Singh He is the perfect person for any help.He also have a perfect knowledge of this place. Believe me this property is awesome. And Mr. Sanjay is the gem of property. Also all the services are best.I personally felt perfect and treated as a apecial guest by whole team. Would love to visit this place again soon!!😄

Beautiful design. The sitting arrangement is awesome. There must be a wiper in the washroom. There is a little dust on the cupboard otherwise it's good. Rooms are net and clean
