Hotel Elite

I found this hotel in Clearmytrip. It is located in Marquis Street, a central and noisy area, in a second floor in front of the Hotel Times International. The room had TV and basic furniture. The bathroom was old. It's hard to understand and to manage the system of the shower and the hot water. Bathroom´s furniture is not tidy.||The breakfast is included in the price: tea with milk, with bread and butter and a banana. They provide you with water. But the breakfast is served between 8:30 and 10 am, so they start to knock you the door at that hour, and if you don't answer they come back one hour later to knock the door again or call you by phone.||Is a small hotel so the rooms are very near from one another. You listen to everything that neighbours are saying. They don't care if the people is speaking loudly in the corridors in the night. And worst of all, from your window you hear all the noises of the road which are many. The sensation was that my room was in the middle of an ocean of noises...||In the bed there are bugs. Below the bed it was full of dust. Sheets, pillows and towels seemed to be once white, so I recomment to carry your own towel to avoid problems. Also a sleeping bag if you risk to not get the bugs into it.||They don't seem to receive foreigners and the don't speak English fluently but you can communicate. ||It's located one block away from Sudder Street, but if your plan in Kolkata is to rest and have nice holidays, definitly this is not the area.||The staff is friendly and service oriented. But don't forget to give tips at the end of your stay!||And take care if you ask them to call a taxi for the airport: they told me the cost was of 450 rupees (expensive for Kolkata), but when I arrived to the airport the driver asked me in a rude way to give him a tip because amount paid was not for him but for the owner of the car.

It a good hotel low price, big room, if you don't mind little cockroaches roaming around especially at night. Oh sheets are not clean and blankets are very smelly.

We stayed in 'Elite' for two nights in October last year during 'Eid' as well as 'Puja' Festival when it was difficult to find a place to sleep in Kolkata. However, our experience was not all together bad staying there. It's a budget hotels in the area and mainly occupied by the visitors from neighboring Bangladesh. The staffs speak Bangla and there are several restaurants nearby serving Bangla food. The shopping hubs like New Market and Metro stations are also at walking distance. Hotel staffs are helpful and they try to provide anything if available at their end. But with all these positive features the hotel lacks 'privacy' in the rooms. The walls or the partitions in between the rooms are so thin that one can overhear the conversation of the neighboring couple! The Bathroom is old fashioned and the fittings of the bathroom were not always working properly.

This is not a hotel. This is more like staying in a slum. The best room was 1800 rupees, we had cockroaches, worms in the water supply, and most importantly blood sucking BED BUGS in the room. The room was infested and it was their best room. The lift locks on its own and hurts the people randomly. Pls DONT stay here. I left room with my pregnant wife at 1 am. They didn't even offer help with luggage. I was forced to pay whole sum.

It's just a small guest house type hotel situated on marquis street.If you are planning for a long vacation of medium budget, then this place'll surely be good for you.It has also a kitchen if you like to cook food on your own.good transportation system,various restaurants are just in front of the building.Staffs are very much helpful.They'll give you good suggestion regarding your shopping & visiting.I just love the time when in the morning you can here the sweet sound of Azaan coming from a nearby Masjid. Victoria gardens,New market, museum,park street all are at walking distance from the hotel.Above all,I was very pleased staying in the hotel

The stuffs are cool, are nice with the guests. Also, the rooms are well maintained with good hygiene. A good value for money place.

Quite good hotel in a reaonable rent. All the basic services availablle. We are staying for around two weeks without any complain.

Good place to stay for a short trip .....it's conveniently located beside the new market area....Good place if you are traveling on a budget ...park street is only a short walk away....you can choose to eat at variety of places ....the only shortcoming is....the rooms are a bit cramped ......but considering all the parameters.....this place is proportional to it's price
