The Byke Retreat - The Byke Sai Cottage (Mahabaleshwar)

I had a very disappointing experience at The Byke Sai Cottage. I had clearly booked 2 Super Deluxe rooms for 4 persons for 14th & 15th August 2025 and paid 50% advance. After reaching the hotel post 12 PM on 14th August, I paid the remaining 50%. Shockingly, the receptionist gave me only 1 room key and insisted that my booking was for just one room for 4 people. When I showed her the official booking confirmation (sent by their sales team member Ms. Manyata Sawant) clearly mentioning 2 rooms for 2 nights, she still refused to accept it. I even called Namrata, who confirmed over the phone that she had indeed booked 2 Super Deluxe rooms for me. Yet, the receptionist kept denying it and claimed it was a “mistake.” The manager then tried to downgrade my booking by offering 2 Deluxe rooms instead of the 2 Super Deluxe rooms that I had already paid for. I refused and demanded either the correct rooms or a refund. After almost one hour of argument and unnecessary stress, they finally provided the 2 Super Deluxe rooms that I had originally booked. This shows a serious lack of professionalism, poor internal communication, and dishonesty in handling confirmed bookings. Guests should not be made to suffer for the hotel staff’s mistakes. I would strongly advise others to be very careful while booking here and double-check everything in writing.

One of the best vally view resort in mahableshwar. comfortable cottages and the view from the room is cherry on the cake.must visit place.

Not a pleasant experience at all. There are better managed and similar priced properties nearby. Location is the only plus point as it offers a good view of the valley, rest all things could have been much much better.

Too many insects. If you are scared of insects don’t book here. View is great but the rooms need pest control. There are BIG spiders, crickets, etc in the room. Very scary. Also there’s no wifi or room calling service. Swimming pool is weirdly white in colour.

.I visited during May 2023. .Beautiful nature surrounded hotel. .In my package free brekfast was included. There was upama, poha, bread butter, tea, coffee, paratha. Some food items was cold though. .Good place for stay, family getogether, catchup. .Food quantity is good. .Parking is available inside the hotel premises. .Serves vegetarian & non-vegetarian food. .Cost wise okok. But need to maintain more clean & hygiene. .Road touch hotel. .Accepts cash/card. .Loved the view. .Rush on weekends, hence prior booking would be good. .They do arranged bonfire. .Fresh Strawberries are available nearby. .Good hiking spot and few points are near to this hotel. .Swimming pool is having awesome view.
