The Byke Retreat - The Byke Brightland (Matheran)

Our stay at the property was excellent, thanks to the perfect combination of food, comfort, and service. Meals were always delicious, hygienic, and served with a lot of care. The rooms were neat, cozy, and equipped with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The service staff performed their duties with professionalism and warmth, which made us feel welcomed and valued. Above everything else, we would like to specially mention Mr. Dinesh. He personally checked every detail, interacted with us, and ensured that our stay was hassle-free. His hands-on approach and commitment to guest satisfaction created a personalized experience that we will always remember. We are truly grateful for the excellent hospitality offered.

A nice family-friendly resort in the middle of Matheran’s greenery. The property has a good mix of relaxation and fun — with an adventure park offering zipline, Burma bridge, archery, and more. The swimming pool and evening entertainment like live music and magic shows add to the experience. That said, the property requires better upkeep and maintenance. Maybe it was the monsoon season, but the plants and creepers felt overgrown. Room service runs at a snail’s pace and really needs to be improved. Food quality is decent but could be better, and the Wi-Fi is very poor. Overall, a good place for families and groups looking for adventure and leisure in Matheran, but it definitely has scope for improvement.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Byke Brightland, Matheran, and I must say — the experience was outstanding! The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and served with great attention to detail. A special thanks to Mr. Dinesh and Bhupendra , the Restaurant Head, whose leadership and dedication made our dining experience truly memorable. He personally ensured everything was perfect — from warm hospitality to timely service. His professionalism and guest-first attitude truly stood out. If you're visiting Matheran, don't miss a meal here. The peaceful ambiance, pure vegetarian buffet, and exceptional service under Mr. Dinesh's guidance make it a 10/10 experience. Bad experience, Bad room, Bad odour Food was below average. Dont take the food packages or stay here. Addressed the complains to Mrs.Newton who didn't pay any heed to the matter, very rude and cold. The GM was of no help at all. Bad staff. Not very helpful. Food was pathetic, paid for all inclusive meals and skipped one meal ie the lunch. Would not recommend. There are many other hotels in Matheran. Dont go here and waste your money

I had a very disappointing experience at Byke Hotel, Matheran. The service is extremely poor. The rooms have a bad smell, showers don’t work properly, no TV, and even hot water is not available — this was in their deluxe rooms! The staff is unprofessional, and even if you book online, you won’t get the room you reserved because they give it away to someone else. Paying ₹4000 for such poor quality is not worth it at all. You can easily find much better rooms outside for ₹1500. Definitely not recommended! Even swimming is so dirty

I stayed at The Byke Hotels & Resorts, Matheran from 3rd August to 5th August 2025, and it was truly a delightful experience. The property is set in a beautiful and peaceful location, making it an ideal getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. The cleanliness of the rooms and common areas was impeccable, which made our stay comfortable and pleasant. The staff service was warm, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, adding a personal touch to our experience. The food served was fresh, flavorful, and offered a good variety—definitely one of the highlights of the stay. Overall, the combination of a serene location, excellent service, spotless cleanliness, and delicious food made our trip memorable. I would happily recommend The Byke Hotels & Resorts to anyone visiting Matheran.
