Laguna Surf Lodge by SCP Hotels

My husband and I were looking for a dog-friendly place to stay in Laguna Beach and booked a week at the Laguna Surf Lodge. We could not have been happier with our experience! From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcomed by the staff. Everyone was so accommodating and friendly throughout our stay. Our plan was to have a working vacation where we worked limited hours during the week and then enjoyed the Laguna Beach area during our off-hours. Our room did not have a desk but the GM Aaron quickly remedied that situation and I was all set up with a desk and chair overlooking our wonderful ocean view. There were several cafes and restaurants within walking distance and with the valet service at the hotel, our car was always available at a moment’s notice. There were so many nice touches provided by the hotel from delicious coffee and tea in the lobby to high quality dog treats, we felt like it was our home away from home our entire stay. Having our small dog Lucy with us required many bathroom breaks and regardless of the time of day, I always felt safe taking her for a walk. We will happily stay at Laguna Beach Lodge whenever we visit the area. It’s such a great choice and it almost felt like having our own apartment with the bonus of the support of the staff. Don’t hesitate to book your stay!!

They were so kind to us. We were displaced and had to evacuate LA due to LA fires. They were super accommodating so kind helped us with whatever we needed. Great location, beautiful the owners are really kind and sweet. Have nothing bad to say about this place. Great energy. The only thing I would say is to bring a laptop or a tablet because there’s no TV but that’s the only thing I have to say that’s not five star treatment.Beautiful views! I would stay there again, also pet friendly and they have Valet parking.

Visiting from Colorado and first time at Laguna Surf Lodge. We loved everything about it! Our room was remodeled beautifully and the bed was so comfy/ The location is close to all shops, restaurants and the grocery store. The views are just breathtaking. The beach is steps in front of you with chairs and towels available. The pool and hot tub were great. The hotel staff are accommodating and friendly. Spectacular place. We will be back annually and next year with friends!

We stayed one night here and immediately upon check in wished we had booked another night! We were greeted with excitement and recommendations for dinner, then found our room to be beautiful, accommodating and clean, even had a yoga mat which my husband forgot to bring! It was easy to find someone to ask to turn the fire pit on so we could enjoy a chilly evening watching the sunset over the water. From the welcome desk, to the staff, to the view, this hotel is 10 for 10 and we can’t wait to come back!! Thank you!

My husband and I stay at Laguna Surf Lodge almost every time we visit Laguna Beach. The location is great. The ocean views are stunning and beach access is super convenient. The staff is always so friendly and helpful. On our recent stay our valet guy, Brody, was amazing. His personality and willingness to go above and beyond did not go unnoticed. He even cleaned the rims on our Porsche rental. 5 star experience all the way. We will definitely be back.

The stay was great. Stayed for a wedding. Tyson was very helpful upon check out. The location was absolutely stunning. Sunsets were amazing. I would recommend the hotel for a nice weekend. Stay in Laguna Beach. Can’t wait to come back again.

Don't book an OCEAN VIEW ROOM with Orbitz here, or you'll be disappointed, and the Laguna Surf Lodge staff will give some LAME EXCUSE about how it was Orbitz fault that a confirmed reservation with Laguna Surf Lodge was not on their reservation list. In my 18 years of experience using Orbitz and / or Expedia, I have never had a hotel, flight, vehicle rental booking reservation, not appear at the hotel I was reserved for with a confirmed Orbitz e-mail and itinerary reservation that I also added insurance too for my stay. NEVER EVER HAS THIS HAPPENED WITH ORBITZ. It was our anniversary, a special occasion for me and my spouse, and it was planned a month in advance with Orbitz. I reserved an Ocean View Room Suite with a balcony and king bed. When we arrived at the location, I attempted to check in. The lady behind the desk asked for the name, and I gave her the information. I could see that after a couple of minutes of her scrolling back and forth on the same computer screens, something seemed wrong. She asked to see my Orbitz reservation, and I handed her my phone with my email open to the reservation and already paid for email confirmation with Orbitz. After a couple more minutes of her looking through the computer, a manager came into the lobby, and at that time, she told me there was a problem and the reservation for our room was not their on the computer. Immediately, she blamed Orbitz for the error, stating, "It was the third party company that did not press the button to confirm your reservation." I was taken by surprise with that excuse and told her that didn't even sound right. The manager, Aaron, then stated,"I know this has happened before." I then stated," Then why do you still allow bookings with Orbitz for your hotel?" He told me, "Well, it's never happened here, but I have heard it happening at other hotels." I felt dupped, and that because we only reserved for one Saturday night, they pushed our reservation aside for someone with more money or that wanted the same type of room for the entire Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weekend. I also felt maybe it was a little racist... Maybe? That is honestly how I felt because none of it seemed logical to me. Here's the kicker.... We were offered another room from Aaron. So we asked to look at it, thinking maybe we could salvage this bad beginning experience here. So, Manager Aaron takes us to the room, and of course, no Ocean view, or any view. There was a view of the parking lot, and the room had an extra room with bunk beds... why would we need another bed. Talk about a downgraded room offer. See attached photos of what we had reserved with Orbitz and the subpar room we were offered. It certainly seemed like the staff didn't even care about us. While we pondered our thoughts in the room, Aaron showed us I contacted Orbitz 800 number, and they stated. They did send confirmation emails for my reservations to the hotel. As a matter of fact, "Two of them." One for the reservation and a second for the insurance we paid for the reservation. This was a bad experience, and because it seemed like they could care less about our reservations, I had to give this review.... I know the Hotel will say we are sorry this happened, and they will lay all the blame on Orbitz. I still don't believe it based on the number of reservations they make. Last, the girl at the desk also said we do ask or guests to book directly with us. That never helps.... Stop laying the blame and be accountable for a mistake.

Amazing location and even better staff!! Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and made every effort to make our stay comfortable. The room was clean, quiet, and just what we needed. Beautiful views from the balconies. We will continue to come back!!
