Hotel Avisa

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Avisa! It had a nice, homely feel and was a comfortable place to relax after a long day of exploring. The location was fantastic—just a short walk to great restaurants, cafes, and shops. Morro Bay itself was absolutely charming, and watching the otters was a highlight of our trip. The hotel was clean and well-kept, nothing overly fancy, but a great place to stay if you want a cozy and convenient spot in this beautiful coastal town. Would definitely stay here again!

We have stayed at several places in Morro Bay. Most of them are lipstick on a big. Hotel Avisa surprised us. We really enjoyed our stay. New, modern, nicely decorated. The room are very spacious. A/C and heater is in the wall, but works great and isn’t anywhere near the bed. The bed was very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet. It’s also walking distance to restaurants, shopping, and the embarcadero. The only negative was the floor is the bathroom was a little sticky.

We really like what the people are doing with this old Choice hotel. The room we had was nicely done, light and bright. The view of Morro Rock and the smokestacks was priceless. The room was clean and the staff were very friendly. Parking was under the hotel and I had no problems with my Ram 1500 pickup. I will definitely stay there again!

The customer service is extremely disappointing. We forgot something in the room that they tossed within four days. What I believe was the manager told us that it would be at front desk and didn’t once specify that we had to pick it up immediately. Since we were out of town we had to find someone to help us get it Sunday (we left Tuesday). It was no where to be found and the woman on the phone was rude and offered no apologies. Why not make it a routine to call before throwing it out, offer to ship or be more specific with how long you have to pick it up?

This bad review was brought to you by the people of the uprising against crap that the people who stay at seemingly great hotels put up with and there is not a bit of care about them forking out hundreds of dollars only to find out the hotel is not what it seems from the description online. Construction at the crack of dawn on the roof ! Only they were trying to be discreet but that didn’t work! Then the hammering started exactly at 8:30 am. No one could have told this so we would have gone to bed early?! I want to add that I will never complain to any front desk person because they are trained to be like HOTEL BOTS. NO MICROWAVE IN THE ROOMS ONLY ONE ON THE 1ST FLOOR.

This property is filthy, so don't let the reviews fool you. The owners don't care about their guests. When we arrived, the parking garage was filthy. When my daughter tried to shower, she found a pile of long black hair stuck to the shower wall. I called the following day to address the issues, and the front desk instructed me to send an email with a photo. I stopped at the front desk to ensure they received the picture. They assured me it would be taken care of, but nothing had been done when we returned five hours later. I expressed my frustration to the front desk and told them that their inaction speaks volumes about how they value their guests. This hotel doesn't have a good feel, and I would never return. There are cleaner and nicer hotels with better locations for a similar price. The floors and stairs are filthy and debris-filled. They dont have someone clean or vacuum the lobby or stairs a few times during the day

Positive: It was at a walking distance to shops and eateries. Negative: Yes! Shower the water goes went out to the floor causing us to dry the water with the towel on hand in order not to slip. At least a Continantal Breakfast would be good . Just my opinion.

Basic motel, nothing special but comfortable enough for a one night stay. The person at the reception was far from pleasant.
