Best Western Tradewinds

I'm afraid the Tradewinds was having some problems when I stayed there. As soon as I walked in the door of the first room they sent me to it was clear it had not been cleaned at all. The blankets and sheets were in a pile on the beds. The second room looked better at first, but when I checked the bathroom the towels were still in a pile on the floor (and the door handle came off as I was heading back to the desk). I THINK the third room had been cleaned, but there was no soap or shampoo and no caffeinated coffee. The next morning they were understaffed and the clerk had to answer phones and prepare breakfast, so the food was late and not very good. Anyways, I could go on, but you probably get the idea. Hopefully they get more help and most of these problems will be solved. On the positive side: the staff was overworked but friendly, and the guests were in good spirits (generally). Still, I won't return anytime soon.

After cancelling my reservation by phone with Lori, The General Manager in ample time prior to my reservation date, the reservation had not been cancelled and I was charged as a no show. I had no idea that the reservation had not been cancelled. I had checked the website after our conversation and there was no reservation listed on my account. I thought everything was ok.|I was charged for the stay ahead of time. Lori told me that she would refund the charge, but that never happened. I called the motel a few times and emailed the General Manager, but never got a response. |Today I spoke with Lori, The General Manager and it was a terrible experience. She was very curt and not nice at all. She told me that she has no record of our conversation so I was a no show. I have phone records to prove that I called.|I trusted her to take care of the matter. My mistake. I will never stay at The Best Western Tradewinds in Morro Bay CA. ever again and advise everyone else not to stay there as well. It is just not worth it.

Rooms had not been cleaned. The staff was overwhelmed by just a few guest check-ins. Room rates are very reasonable. The rooms are updated but spartan. Great location being just one block from the embarcadero. Many good eateries close buy.

It was a great experience! Loved the small town atmosphere with the beautiful Oceanside views and little restaurants. The room was the perfect size for me and my stay! Really clean and neat room with the welcoming hospitality workers they had at the front desk!

Great facility with a nice outdoor "sky deck" overlooking the bay with a great view of the morro. Beautiful sunset view! 1 block away from the bay front shopping and restaurant area.

If there were a way to leave less than 1 star, that’s what I would be leaving. Disgusting room where we found condoms and garbage on the floor. Naturally we went back to the front desk and told them we would be leaving. It has been 2 weeks and we have not received a refund and management has done nothing but incredibly rude and unhelpful. Absolutely disgusted with this hotel and even more so with the customer service. DO NOT STAY HERE. Responding to their response. The stay was not completed. We left immediately. What’s your refund policy on that?!

Not worth what we paid to stay here - turns out we were here on a triathlon weekend, so my guess is this was why we paid $200 for the one Saturday night. We got to the hotel at 7.30pm - sign outside said the office manager would be back by 7.45pm, but no one came back to the office until 8.45pm to check us in. Room was fine, but there was still food from the folks before us in the minifridge. If you're staying in town, location is great, but just as a stop over for the night, wouldn't come back.

I have never recieved such horrible customer service. Our rooms were not ready until 1 AM although we booked at at 5 PM. One room was missing bed linen and toilet paper. We waited for the manager to show up for 2 hours to talk to her the next morning, she was Clearly not interested in serving us. The next morning, we were not refunded in a fair way. Instead of the manager apolozing, she chose to not listen, was the most arrogant and rude person we have ever met. She also treated her staff poorly and blaimed stuff on them although this situation was Clearly a Management issue. I would avoid this hotel!!
