Fireside Inn

The best place to stay in Morro Bay. We visit 5-7 times a year and have tried a handful of hotels until we found this one. The location is ideal. You don’t have to deal with parking elsewhere because everything is walkable from the hotel. The rooms are spotless, every time. Staff is so nice, late check in is super easy. Rooms are good sizes and the upstairs rooms have a view of the Rock. The only complaint I have (but doesn’t deter us from continuing to only stay here) is the beds are quite firm/cheap feeling. I wish they’d throw some pillow mattress toppers on, but outside of that it’s perfect. You won’t find a better room for the price and it even beats some of the higher priced ones we’ve stayed at locally.

Positive: The woman at the desk was nice Negative: It advertiised and we reserved a double queen OCEAN VIEW room. However, you could not see the ocean unless you went outside and tried to see over the carport roof , there was NO view from the room but we paid more for it. Will not go there again.

I recently stayed at the Fireside Inn for three nights. I was pleasantly surprised that the room with two queen beds was spacious, clean, and quiet. Despite being located on the ground floor the noise level was minimal. The only inconvenience was the small parking lot. When we left before sunrise, there were no lights on the exterior walkways near our door or in the parking lot. The location of this Hotel is within walking distance to the Embarcadero. It is also convenient to drive up the coast to Cambria and Hearst Castle. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend this hotel!

Jen and her son are the sweetest people who are always welcoming when checking in and out of Fireside Inn. It's quiet and clean and has a beautiful view of Morro rock. A great place to relax.

This motel is a great option for all your activities in the Morro Bay area. It is centrally located within easy walking distance to the Embarcadero and downtown. The room was clean and comfortable and check in was fast and friendly.

The facilities at Fireside Inn were, as usual, excellent for our CBX club group! Reasonable room rates and an extended stay Thursday through Monday morning made for a very nice time, and hats off to the staff at the Fireside for their usual hospitality. We will be back next year!

I was very pleased with how friendly the front desk was and easy check in and out. The room was clean and quiet. The towels were a good size and soft, not small, thin or stiff like some more expensive hotels. This was a last minute stay and I’m glad I did.

This hotel didn't meet our expectations. It's definitely not a 3-star hotel. Pros: The room is clean, the mattress is good, the sheets and towels are fresh and clean (though the standard sized sheets didn't fit the king mattress so that significant part of mattress was just exposed). Newly remodeled bathroom with clean countertops. Parking is fine though by late evening all spots were taken despite many rooms non-occupied. That's pretty much it... Cons: Front-desk is non-existent (even though stated all-day availability). We had to wait for 10+ minutes and ring a bell several times before someone finally showed up. Later, we haven't seen anyone there either at any time we passed by as well as at our check-out. Building is very old and worn out, no elevator. Room is fine but very smelly, with old carpets and greasy filthy surfaces everywhere they didn't wipe (e.g. doors and walls). In the newly remodeled bathroom they forgot to get exhaust ventilation (so it becomes misty every time after taking a shower). The water in the shower hardly flows at all, not enough pressure. Body wash container was practically empty, we put serious efforts to milk some last drops from it. And I don't know who designed power outlets on the nightstand lamps but you can't plug any charger in there except the smallest one as there's no room due to this design. We will try a different place next time.
