Overall this was a good experience. We stayed one night off season. Things were quiet. The rooms were nice and clean. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was minimal. I got the last of the hot food about 40 min before breakfast was over and the front desk person said that they wouldn't be making any more. Everything was smooth for us. The location was great. Easy walking distance to the pier. Very close to restaurants and bars.

From being overcharged Horrible room. Oversized furniture Bathroom door had no handle on inside and was extremely heavy I got locked in bathroom when door broke. When my husband got it unstuck it came off in his hands and fell towards me. The hotel solution was to just remove door. We returned late that evening and no bathroom door Of course they offered to move us. It was our last and I was over it already. Staff is nice enough however seem stoned the entire time. We were told we would be refunded 2 nights and after a month of calling were refunded 108 dollars. Our stay was Dec 6 thru 12 2024. Absolutely horrible experience

Great value, kindest staff and great location (a short walk to the Embarcadero). The lobby and rooms are beautiful and well appointed and the staff is accommodating. I will stay here again and again. The jetted bathtub is everything, perfect after a long day.

First time staying at the hotel, everything looks new and clean. I was excited until the front desk lady (indian lady) was mean to me just for asking in what level was our room. Well that was not the worse part 😂 we stayed at the third floor and the stupid toilet got stuck and have zero force to flush. We had to go to the front desk and they give us something to unclogged the toilet well every time we use the restroom we had to unclogged the toilet. We pay $300+ for this room.

Location is great! Walking distance to the Morro Rock, restaurants and bars. Is a Pet Friendly hotel although the front desk ladies don't look too friendly. Parking available. Breakfast is ok. Room was big with a fireplace that make more cozy and warm.

Unfortunately I have to share a bad review of this hotel. I want to start by saying we typically stay at 2-3 star or boutique hotels, I like the quaintness of them and the “family/homey” feeling we get when staying at them. When I chose Ascot for our hotel to celebrate our anniversary weekend, I thought I would be welcomed the same. Sadly, that wasn’t the case with this stay. |Upon arrival, we were told our room wasn’t ready/cleaned because how severely understand they are. We weren’t able to check into our room until after 4pm. Upon check in we were told we would be given a discount since we weren’t able to check in until after the check in time. The hotel was charging $400/night the weekend we stayed. Tammy at the front desk told us that the manager, Alison would credit us once we checked out. Fast forward 3 weeks and we have yet to hear from Alison or receive any credit. No one answers the phone when I call the hotel, one of the phone numbers is disconnected. I emailed reservations and the manager and haven’t heard back. It’s disrespectful to completely ghost a customer. The room we stayed in was large but not cleaned well. While I typically love the vibes of these smaller hotels, this one did not do it. The photos online are not what the hotel looks like. I do not reccomended staying there.

Cute place! They are in the midst of remodeling, hopefully soon. Our room was large, had a gas fireplace, nice view. The electrical seemed a bit funky. We had issues charging our phones. Took several hours rather than a short time like usual. Would recommend staying here.

This is our third stay at the Ascot. It has always been a great place. The rooms are beautifully remodeled. The beds are comfortable, and the staff are great.
