Hard Rock Hotel San Diego

The Hard Rock was great from start to end. Valet only for $65 for hotel guests, keep that in mind which is everywhere in Gas Lamp. Valet staff were awesome, respectful. Front desk staff were great and were brought down complimentary drinks for the wife’s birthday. I got the deluxe king balcony room and it was great. Overlooking gas lamp and the convention center was an awesome view. Kevin at the bar downstairs was great. Super nice, fun, relaxing. The hotel is non-smoking which is fantastic, the hotel smelled great not like a musty Vegas hotel. Definitely will stay at Hard Rock again

From start to finish, my stay at the Hard Rock Hotel was fantastic. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a fresh, clean scent. The room was beautifully designed, and the view was even better. The location is perfect—just minutes from downtown and the Gaslamp District. Whether you’re looking for a great restaurant or a fun night out, this is the place to stay. It’s safe, convenient, and puts you right in the heart of it all. Highly recommend!

Spent a great 5 days there as part of an event, which used most of the environment in the hotel. It's well located, plenty of great places to visit from a walking distance, the MJ's breakfast is great, etc. The conference rooms make for great audio and ambiance. I honestly really enjoyed it and recommend if you can.

Hard Rock Hotels have a special place in my heart ever since I first stayed at their Atlantic City location. Back then, I moved from a terrible hotel to Hard Rock Casino, and the difference was like night and day—going from a poor experience to a full-on 5-star treatment. Fast forward to my recent stay at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego for my birthday, and once again, they delivered an unforgettable experience. From the moment I checked in, everything was seamless. The process was quick and efficient, and I loved the modern technology they use to enhance the guest experience. Ordering room service was a breeze, and the attention to detail was incredible. The food arrived beautifully presented on a tray with a tablecloth and cover—just like in the movies where people enjoy luxurious breakfasts in bed. But what truly made my stay magical was their thoughtfulness. I hadn’t informed them it was my birthday, yet in the evening, I was surprised with a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket, a heartfelt birthday card, and personal congratulations from the staff. It was such an unexpected and touching gesture that made my special day feel even more extraordinary. Hard Rock Hotel San Diego offers not just luxury but a personal touch that transforms a stay into a cherished memory. Whether it’s for a celebration or just a getaway, this place knows how to make you feel like a VIP. Highly recommended!

I had such a fabulous Birthday & Valentines weekend at Hard Rock Hotel SD. Definitely will be back. Zoe's customer service was absolutely a 10/10. We had special surprise of champaign and a Birthday card delivered to our room which made me feel extra special & the best treatment throughout our stay. Highly recommend.

This hotel is in need of a complete makeover. Rooms are small and the king size bed we were promised certainly wasn’t what we’re accustomed to. It was not only small it was hard. AC was noisy and clicked loudly on and off. There is considerable road noise/rail line noise and we were in the 10th floor. They said the pool was heated and it was not. Gym is small and cramped with no mats for stretching. We would not return to this hotel. We cut our stay short by two nights and went elsewhere.

Very nice hotel, great location, right by the Gas Lamp district which has nice bars and restaurants. The rooms are very modern and super clean. Also walking distance to the water if you like to do some jogging. The hotel only offers valet parking, but right across from the hotel there is a public parking with security. Overall highly recommend this hotel.

I will never stay here again. My TV didn't work the whole time. I had no hot water on the last couple days and the "mini bar" was so full of stuff I couldn't use the fridge. I was also locked out of my room with just socks and shorts on because one of the key cards didn't work. Now they are trying to charge me $15 for something from the mini bar because I moved things around to fit my stuff and apparently they can't count. I called the front desk and they said all they could do was text me a dispute email address. No text ever came. Terrible Hotel, terrible customer service.
