NillUnfortunately this place was a huge let down for us. We were moving a long distance and had been on the road all day, after seeing the rooms and seeing it was right by a dog friendly beach we figured it would be a great place to stop for the night as we have a small dog and it would be nice to let him enjoy the beach. First the rooms are nothing like what are shown online. Our room was very outdated with a super small tv placed on what looked like furniture from goodwill. As soon as we walked in, we were hit with a super strong smell of bleach, which okay at least it’s clean. The area felt somewhat unsafe after dark. Lots of yelling and homeless people right outside of the rooms. I had my toddler with me and felt on edge as soon as we walked in. But the real problem is how thin the walls are. Because it’s by a dog beach and pet friendly, you hear nothing but barking and thuds all night. They have patios on the ground level rooms but they are right next to the other guests patio with no real dividers so we couldn’t even let our pup out there because the person next door had a huge dog that could have easily jumped over. Plus it just looked very dirty. You can’t hear the waves or see them from the rooms. The only nice thing I have to say about this place is Nick working the front desk was super chill and very kind. Also you have to pay for parking in the parking lot, and after all the fees, it came out to twice the price quoted on the site. For the price, I would recommend just staying at a chain hotel.

NillStaying for 2 nights. Check-in was easy. Friendly service. Room was extremely clean and smelled great when we entered. 1st floor room. Went outside on the patio and that was clean as well. None of the bad things mentioned in other reviews. Beds and TV are adequate. Beach is within walking distance and plenty of restaurants available via a short drive. I feel like this is what I expected when booking. Yes, there is airport traffic, but, living in a city where C-130s fly all the time, no big deal.

NillA great inn especially for families with pets! Full motel is dog friendly, with fenced dog run on the bottom floor, access to dog beach nearby and a great food truck for breakfast and brunch! We really enjoyed our stay however there was a lot of upkeep that needed to be done. Rooms could be cleaner, beds were broken and sagging, sink was plugged the entire stay, patio set was sharp and rusted, metal sticking out behind door for doorstop (hazards for kids and pets) With a little maintenance, upkeep and replacements of items could be an amazing place. Thanks for the stay!

★Poop stink outside room from all of the old poop stains/unwashed areas. Did not even dare walk out there. Bare minimum rooms with terribly old furniture and dank smell. Homeless guy living right outside room on other side of fence. He was up at all hrs rummaging and rearranging his home. Dogs kept barking at him. Freezing in room, said they would fix but never came. Literally sounded like giants were wrestling above us all night. Have stayed before because of the convenience for our lab, will never go back. Charge for parking and pet fee, might as well stay somewhere more decent or Airbnb it. Guy at front was condescending and had absolutely no interest in hearing our concerns. I get the area and am from California but this place is just ick now, save your money!

NillUnfortunately, I didn’t get to experience the full amenities as some areas, including the pool, common area, and patio, were under construction. If amenities are important to you, I’d recommend calling ahead to check their availability. On the positive side, the price was reasonable for my stay from Thursday to Saturday in a downstairs room with two queen beds. It’s a great spot if you have pets—very pet-friendly, which I really appreciated! I’ll most likely return. Cons: The noise from the upstairs neighbors was quite loud, and sound travels easily downstairs. Unfortunately, this made it difficult for me to sleep well.

NillThis is not a hotel that takes pride in its rooms. In fact, I don’t think they’ve applied any profit over the last 50 years toward upkeep in any meaningful way. Let me paint a picture of this room: spacious bare floor with two beds and a 1970’s nightstand. Scraped wood, chipped paint and an overall feeling of unease. What’s on the walls you ask? A small picture that says ‘welcome to the beach’ above one bed. What’s above the other bed? How about the same picture. That’s fine I guess, their interior decorator has other rooms to work on so why spend any more time than necessary. We got two small pictures on the walls we don’t need nothing else. Let’s take a trip to the far end with the mini fridge nestled against the wall. Above it, a window to the outside world and observe the hole in the blinds. The gaping hole…cut out of the blinds. Thankfully The Gideons left us a bible that perfectly slotted into the giant blind hole, allowing us to maintain our privacy. We enter the bathroom, you’ve seen this one in horror movies. It was kind of them to leave a hair dryer but would have been nicer if the bathroom plug worked The…ONLY…bathroom plug. I did enjoy when my wife used the hair dryer in the bedroom because it made the light dim, so if you turned the hair dryer on and off super fast you could have a rave :) They do have laundry on site and the dog wash, so good services, EXCELLENT location, but man you really should know when it comes to the room you are getting the BARE minimum. Or perhaps even a little less than bare? You might have electricity in the bathroom, you might not.

NillWorst place we've stayed in all California. 0 stars. Zoom in on pic to see homeless camp and person that kept watching the rooms looking into patio windows. Not safe for kids or single women. Floors covered with sand and enough febreeze used to force us to leave doors open for 4 hours just to stay in room. Homeless person nocking on doors and ranting nonesense. Will not be back. Saw a homeless man pick up a stick and try to hit others dogs through fence. Do not book here. March 2025.

NillNever pay attention to the reviews this hotel is better than just a night to sleep, great staff, the housekeeping does an amazing job and they work so hard to keep place looking amazing. Room smelled so good and deff reminded me of our cabin on lake of the Ozarks. They allow doggy's we don't have one but every dog has a beach and they have washing station for animals in the backside it was clean and all the dogs seemed to smile after they went to dog beach. We also had an amazing 5 day stay/here from Kansas City MO. The Pool was closed but it's being redone can't wait to come back again. I absolutely recommend we walked to do many places 15 min walks/20 min walks to places great location wish the beach was more outside the window but still very worth every penny. They have laundry on site ✓✓✓✓ able to do before flight back home and not bad price 1.50 for dryer and 1.50 for wash. We loved it and you will too and so will your furry friends....have a great trip if u come and deff make your own review!
