★★★★★The Pearl is a very cool concept for a hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well-designed. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Their restaurant and bar The Pony Boy is excellent and super fun! It offers an opportunity to meet other guests and locals. The hotel is conveniently located. Overall a great stay and I will be back.

NillThanks to Emilio at Front Desk for his kindness & great service in setting us up for our great stay @ The Pearl! We expected basic lodging, prior to an early flight home to Seattle. We were pleasantly surprised by the very cool restaurant & bar that are wide open into the pool area, which was illuminated w/soft mood lighting, plus candles at each poolside dining table! Fun retro menu & vintage TV Shows on big screen too! Our small room (overlooking the restaurant & pool) was very well thought out to provide everything we needed... and nothing we didn't. This is a definite return location when traveling this way again!

NillThis was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was dirty—moldy window coverings, hair on the bathroom floor that wasn’t mine, and stained sheets. The faucets weren’t cleaned and were starting to fall apart. To top it off, the walls were so thin I could hear my noisy neighbors all night, and the AC didn’t work. Outside my window was a loud humming noise, like an AC condenser, making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. On top of all that, the hotel canceled part of my reservation without explanation. The only positive aspects were the friendly staff and a comfortable bed, but that’s not enough to make up for everything else. I won’t be staying here again, especially with a far better hotel located right across the street.

NillA lovely hotel that was modern and had a relaxed Boho vibe to the decor. Staff are freindly and welcoming on arrival. The restaurant for dinner is amazing and took us by surprise, the portions are huge but top marks to the chef! There is much an environmentally friendly ethos to the hotel, with them adopting many measures to be greener. I really appreciated these and shows how easy it can be. As part of this, your room is not serviced unless you actually ask for it. The rooms were clean and tidy, but there was an overriding damp smell (not mould, just like you had had a shower just before you walked in and the condensation and humidity had nowhere to go). We didn't manage to get rid of this despite us having the window open the whole time we were in the room. However, it wasn't super unpleasant and it didn't put us off the room. The cleaners do a very thorough job cleaning the communal areas, even beating the sofas and cushions to remove dust! The breakfast was simple but well presented, which you were able to help yourseld to. It would have been nice if some of the options for breakfast rotated throughout the week. 5 mornings of the same things being offered every day was boring by the 3rd day and actually meant we got breakfast elsewhere. Parking is expensive, you can park on the roads close to the hotel for free. Location is good, being close to the airport and around 20mins taxi ride from most of the hotspots, but you are still walking distance to coffee shops, restaurants take aways and of course the harbour. Staff were friendly but there seemed to be some issues in communication when it came to asking for a sofa bed to be made up and our room to be serviced. They do offer a movie night around the pool. We didn't think this was done too well as most people weren't there to watch the film but instead have dinner. The film which was played on the screen above the pool with very little sound, so with other guests just there to socialise and enjoy a meal, it was very difficult to follow the film at all. Subtitles and increased volume would have been so much better. It's a great concept and we still enjoyed ourselves but it wasn't as much of a "movie night" as we expected. Make sure you eat at the restaurant!! That's all that needs to be said on that! Overall I would recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay there again.

NillThe Pearl is unique in many ways. The rooms are very nicely decorated, are spacious and include nice bathroom toiletries. Breakfast is good and included in the room rate. It's on a main road so you can hear traffic noise but it didn't bother me. Staff was kind, special thanks to Jelati from the front desk who was super kind and helpful. Location is ok, close to the bay and a few restaurants. I did not use bar or restaurant but they were always quite busy. Thank you

★★★★The Pearl is conveniently located to the airport and the Sunset Cliffs. It's not far from downtown San Diego and it's easy to get to La Jolla from there as well. The hotel street noise is loud so bring ear plugs. The Nextdoor building was leaf blowing at 7am on Sunday, so just be aware of that. The room is beautiful and comfortable and the beds are also very comfortable. The breakfast included is great and a perfect way to start the day.

NillI recently had the pleasure of staying at The Pearl Hotel, and I can’t say enough good things about my experience. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service. The rooms were immaculate, with every detail thoughtfully considered to ensure maximum comfort. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and I appreciated the attention to cleanliness throughout the property. The amenities were top-notch, and the on-site dining options were exquisite—offering a variety of delicious dishes that catered to every palate. The location was perfect, with easy access to local attractions while still providing a peaceful retreat at the end of the day. But what truly stood out was the staff. They went above and beyond to make sure my stay was perfect, offering helpful recommendations and ensuring that every need was met with a smile. Overall, The Pearl exceeded my expectations in every way. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious, yet comfortable, stay. I will definitely be returning!

NillMy husband and I stayed at the Pearl Hotel this past weekend and it was an amazing experience! The staff were attentive, kind and helpful, especially Richard, Wiley and Anthony (along with everyone, those are just the names I remember)! The rooms were adorably decorated and so comfortable, with thoughtfully curated minibar options. We felt like we were staying with friends while there. The location is amazing, with sightseeing within walking distance and anything you might need close by as well. I will recommend this hotel to anyone I get to opportunity to.
