Howard Johnson by Wyndham San Diego Sea World

San Diego Local here. Stayed here while my apartment was renovated. Pros: Very friendly staff from front desk to breakfast staff to housekeeping to maintenance! We were treated very well! Rooms are clean and comfortable! Cons: Hotel does need an upgrade. Some furniture is worn. Also being located on Rosecran Street you do get some street noise. The rooms do have a microwave and refrigerator. The refrigerator is a little larger than most hotel room refrigerators. We stayed here for a little over a month while waiting for our apartment to be finished and all in all it was an enjoyable stay

Positive: I thought the road would be loud.?was not at all. Great clean and comfy nice room. The check in was so perfect and front desk woman was so sweet. Exceeded expectations. So nice to have all the shopping so close too, walking distance. Negative: Great service! Cleanliness, parking, breakfast, pillows, comfy bed, all great!

This is a very nice hotel. I've stayed here several times. The rooms are clean and neat. The prices are very reasonable and the staff, especially (The handyman) Louis are terrific! He is always kind and upbeat. A great representative for Howard Johnson hotels. I'll be returning for sure!

I had a wonderful experience at this motel, thanks largely to the exceptional service provided by the general manager. From the moment I arrived, they went above and beyond to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible. The room was spotless, well-maintained, and had all the amenities I needed for a restful night. The location is convenient, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. ||The general manager’s helpfulness and professionalism really stood out, making me feel valued as a guest. I’ll definitely be returning next time I’m in the area. Highly recommend this place!

Comfortable beds and a strong shower were the few positives. There was a urine smell which got worse or more intense when we turned on the HVAC unit and fan. Also, the carpeting where the wall and floor meet and all of the corners looked like they haven't been vacuumed with a crevice tool in a long time. The bathroom faucet handle felt ready to fall off and the toilet seat was loose. Very few hooks for hanging up things and that the hook on the bathroom door was absolutely useless.

We just wanted a simple place to stay while visiting SeaWorld. We were tricked by the name; this hotel was not really near SeaWorld. The rooms were shabby and smelled strongly of both pot and cigarettes. There wasn’t enough parking spaces for how many rooms they have. We couldn’t park anywhere near our room. There was a biker gang having a party outside our room all night. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everyone in their rooms. Didn’t get any sleep because of all the noise. I tried to find someone who worked their but couldn’t find anyone and a called and texted the number given by the hotel but no one answered or ever got back to me. Absolutely horrible experience! DO NOT STAY HERE!!

The shower hot water wasn’t hot. The door was hard to open. The breakfast was ok but not great. The staff were not very friendly. It was not the best area ether They had no elephant and the stairs weren’t conveniently place to get to room especially when you are a senior. For the price paid I didn’t feel it was a good balue

Room is good standard hotel room though WIFI is sometime has issues. However the staff very friendly Manager very helpful and location is close to a good pool of restaurants and drug stores should you have got your toothpaste or mouth wash forgotten or taking from airport security.
