NillA "Gap"-ping Adventure at Wildwood Hotel and Casino. Ever heard of "rustic charm" being taken a bit too literally? Welcome to our stay at the Wildwood Hotel and Casino, where the bathroom door took us on a "gap"-ping adventure into the wild! This barn door, a beacon of openness, left little to the imagination - and I mean *little*. Navigating bathroom trips became a game of "hide and seek" with my dignity, as every sound and aroma became public domain. "Honey, why don't you explore the casino? I'll just... check the weather in here," became my go-to line, trying to steer my wife away from the imminent sensory broadcast. Let's just say, we got closer than ever before, mastering the art of timing. The experience was one part comedy, one part survival skills workshop. Who knew a stay at the Wildwood could be so "air-opening"? Rating three stars for turning a "crappy" situation into a bonding bonanza. Kudos to the hotel for its unique take on ventilation. Just maybe consider a solid door for those of us who prefer our bathroom concerts to be solo performances.

NillWe were not told the casino would be closed the next day, when we booked a room. Could not figure out how to get local channels on TV and front desk did not send anyone to help. Said it would be 20 minutes but we waited over 2 hours and nobody ever came up. Excuses were made for everything the next morning and no apology or offer to fix. Casino was fun Monday night but still unhappy they took out the self serve beverages! Hotel room was very small and easy at end of hall. I had asked for handicap room, they were out. But then she put us in the furthest room from elevator! Also had to wait until 7 pm to check in, not enough help cleaning was excuse.

NillIt's no longer the Wild Wood, it's the Golden Nugget and it's horrible. This used to be our favorite place because it's off the beaten path and the service was the absolute best. It is now the most horribly run establishment in town. Will definitely NEVER come back!

NillI was just going to let it slide, then I noticed that this establishment charged me twice for a stay that was less than spectacular to begin with, so now I've got to let everyone know. I reserved my stay online a week in advance. So I expected, since the website confirmation said that I could check in at 4, that we would be able to check in at 4. We arrived at 4:45 and went to check in. They told us our room was not ready. I asked the employee if it would be possible for him to call me once we would be able to check in. He looked at me as if he were confused and said he would try. Typically a hotel would have no problem doing this (however, it did not happen). I called the front desk after we finished our dinner around two hours later. They said it was still not ready. I called again about two more hours later around 8:30, at this point beginning to get irritated. They said I could check in at that time and apologized for the wait. So we went to our room and found the bed made all except the fitted sheet, which was bizarrare. I asked the housekeepers in the hall for a fitted sheet. The housekeeper was helpful and came and made our bed for us, so I appreciate him doing that. Also, our remote in the room did not work with the TV. He also helped us get a different remote. So thanks again to that housekeeper for being the most helpful. At the desk they said they were charging me at $50 deposit. I thought this bizarre also since I paid for the whole room online including a $20 non-refundable deposit. They ended up charging me AGAIN for the room, which was the last straw for me. I won't be staying here again after I was double charged for a terrible stay!

NillReally super experience! We will definitely return. The rooms are so cozy and beautifully furnished. Extremely comfortable king bed. Nice spacious bathroom. Welcomed black out blinds! Fridge and coffee station. Friendly staff. And most of all, the rooms were QUIET! No disturbances in the night, which we find common with most Cripple Creek Hotels. Thank you!

NillDidn't look like bed sheets had been changed. Visibly dusty. Should be in better condition considering it is a fairly new hotel.

NillRoom is very hot and muggy, but AC was broken. Also the window is sealed shut, so even though it's freezing outside I still can't cool the room off. No other available rooms, so it's a sleepless sweaty night for me, or sleep in the car.

NillFirst off, I would like to say town and atmosphere of Cripple Creek was wonderful. As for The Wildwood Hotel, is was the opposite. My parents which are 76 years old to even get the courtesy of having there luggage carried for them which they offer. Only too have walked up to a younger gentleman, White Frizzed Bleach Hair buried in his phone. Did not even raise his head to look who was coming into hotel. Second off, Brian the tall guy with an "I hate my job attitude" and to overcome the "I hate my job attitude" is to be rude to a 76 year old Vietnam Veteran. Which even in their pen cup they had American Flags. Even in the Casinos they were recognizing Veterans. Continuing... Brian yet told us we won't be able to check in at 3, because the room is not ready. We booked over a month ago, and thought by now they would have been able to get a room ready in time. 30 days it quite a long time to clean up a room and make the bed and dust. Brian humble attitude was come back in 30 mins to 1 hour "K". So already set off.We grab lunch at the very tasty " Ralf's Break Room". Show up back at hotel at 430pm granted we arrived at 3pm before. Finally got into room. Third off, After getting finally settled in, my grandmother noticed a yellow stain on sheet and also to top it off, went to use bathroom and the light was not working "LED". Also TV was not connected to any network. "T95" cable box was not working properly just never ending cycle. We went back to front desk and reported issues their responses were " Maintenance has a lot on plate right now but we will get to it by tonight or tomorrow". Literally laying here in hotel bed writing this review at 10pm. Still yet no TV or light in bathroom. Maintenence came in at 11pm with a bulb that was not even compatible with the "LED". Sorry and Sad for the representation of company from Staff. Just the experience here with a month booked in advance was not how I expected to be treated along as well as my Elders and Veterans visiting Cripple Creek. I say step it up and treat you paying guest the correct way.
